Find out what Bar restaurants to try in Potomac. Potomac ( listen (help·info)) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Montgomery County, Maryland, United States, named for the nearby Potomac River. Home to royalty, billionaires, diplomats, and the international business elite, it is one of the most prestigious communities in the Washington, D.C. area (and the US). In 2013, CNNMoney listed Potomac as the most affluent town in all the United States based on median household income. Potomac is also the seventh-most top-educated American small town according to Forbes. Bloomberg Businessweek labeled Potomac as the twenty-ninth-richest zip code in the United States in 2011, stating that it had the largest population of any U.S. town with a median income of more than $240,000. In 2012, The Higley Elite 100 published a list of highest-income neighborhoods by mean household income, which included four neighborhoods in Potomac; one of these neighborhoods, "Carderock-The Palisades" was ranked the highest-income neighborhood in the United States, followed by "Beverly Hills-North of Sunset" in Beverly Hills, California, and "Swinks Mill-Dominion Reserve" of McLean, Virginia. More recently, two Potomac neighborhoods were ranked among the ten wealthiest neighborhoods in the country by CNBC in 2014. In 2018, data from the American Community Survey revealed that Potomac was the sixth-wealthiest city in the United States. Many Potomac residents work in nearby Washington, D.C.

Went for lunch.EXCELLENT golden margaritas! EXCELLENT duck tacos! EXCELLENT salsa! Awful tortilla chips. Thick, more like crackers. No flavor, no detectable salt. My husband had the Torta de Chicken (sic)Milanese and was rather disappointed. Huge, thick, white bread bun encasing some pretty good fillings, served with a giant side of French fries. Way too much carb. Blood glucose sugar express!!!Service was excellent across the board, will definitely be back.

First let me say visiting J. Gilberts at the end of Mothers Day evening was the greatest thing that could happened. Saturday our family buried one of our own who took his own life. Sunday, Mothers Day many tempers flaring with the end result being my youngest son was escorted out. After driving him to a friends house I cried most of the way home. Then my husband called me and said find a nice place we could have dinner and you can relax. This is when my muddy swamp turned into a Rainbow and Pot of Gold being J. Gilberts. Our waiter was wonderful. our food was heavenly and the atmosphere gave me the chance to decompress. Your staff and food is unbelievable, Thank you for turning my Mothers Day into something nice.

This is our favorite local spot when returning home to the Bethesda/Potomac area. It’s a low-key/beautiful place with a BIG personality and an attention for detail. The wine selection, craft brews, FOOD, and owner/staff are what keeps us coming back. (Not to mention super cool artwork/chalk-board displays.)We have tried nearly everything on the menu... From the Short Ribs (personal fav), Lyonnaise/Bianco Pizza, Mussels (w/ Thai chili broth), Wild Tomato Burger, Salmon, or Chicken— we haven’t found a chink in their armor yet!Lovely place to bring your family or maybe the person you want to start a family with one day :)

This was my first time to this Irish pub which is at the back side of a strip mall making it hard to find. When I arrived just after 8:00pm, I found the place to be a ghost town. There were three to four people in the bar area and another five in the main dining room. The bar had live music and a nice wood lit fireplace. Their ceilings are retro tin panels. Overall it is a very nice place, with a second bar in the main dining room.I was started with a nice assortment of bread slices and butter. My appetizer was the fish and chips ($15) and entrée a cheeseburger ($13.25). The fish and chips were lacking more fish for the price point. The three 1”x3” pieces were tasty but very disappointing in quantity. The coleslaw that came with it was barely a teaspoon amount, so I asked for more. While I waited for more coleslaw I tasted what I had, and it was room temperature. The additional coleslaw was also room temperature, so I did not eat it. I asked to see the manager and told him I would not eat it because who knows how long it has been sitting out. He apologized and later I found took off the cost of my beer. The fries were limp and greasy. The cheeseburger was juicy and the substitute of veggies for fries was a mix of mushrooms, Brussels sprouts and sweet potato which did not work well together. The 8 to 10-ounce burger had a big slice of red onion and was overall very good.My order took a long time not sure why when the place was empty. Very frustrating at that time of night waiting to be served.Dear MrOcho,Thanks for your visiting us and for taking the time to write your review. Walked in and had high hopes. Attractive restaurant with friendly hostess. We were seated in an empty dining room on a weeknight. The menu seemed promising with lots of good choices. Service was pretty good and the food looked appetizing when it was presented. However there was nothing memorable about dinner and the flavors were generally very bland. There was nothing wrong with our meal but certainly nothing special about it either.

My wife and I brought a friend here to Stanford Grill who was visiting from out-of-town. We chose Stanford because during every one of our previous visits, we’ve always had outstanding food and customer service!! This visit was no different and she absolutely loved the restaurant!! For an establishment that doesn’t solely focus on Asian cuisine, their sushi dishes are fantastic and delicious. Been here many times before and will definitely continue to dine here in the future. My only negative observation: I wish the hostesses up front as you enter the restaurant would smile when greeting patrons and present a more welcoming persona. A restaurant this classy deserves nothing less than this small effort from its staff. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a kind review! We love getting feedback from our guests, especially repeat guests like yourself! We're happy to hear that you are enjoying the sushi we offer. We look forward to having you back to dine with us again soon!

Arrived early on Saturday to try the burgers at this comfortable destination with easy parking, comfortable booth or table seating and warm reception by the staff. The special promotion of half-price burgers did not disappoint our group. Being on a low-sodium regimen, I ordered my burger without bread, nor cheese nor salt but enjoyed a delicious fresh thick patty with portobello mushroom, sauteed onions, lettuce, tomato and crisp sweet potato fries and a garnish of shredded fried onions too!. What a treat when the wait staff and kitchen can prepare food to order and welcome substitutions without any complaints. Will tel others about this wide-ranging menu and enjoyable culinary experience!

We've eaten here many times before, and we always enjoyed the food, beer, and ambience. This time was a disappointment. I ordered Irish Stew, and the waiter returned and said the chef couldn't fulfill the order. Isn't it strange that an Irish Pub can't serve the signature dish of Irish Pubs? So I settled for a burger, not quite what I had wanted. It was a good burger, but I still was disappointed that I couldn't get the Irish Stew. The beer, Smithwicks, is one of my favorites, and they did have it on tap, and the tap didn't run dry, so the evening wasn't a total waste. If they had the Irish Stew I probably would have given a rating of four or five, depending on how good it was that evening.

Our extended family enjoyed a Saturday evening dinner. Fresh lobster, crabcakes, fresh oysters, shrimp cocktail, and drinks were delightful. The creamed spinach was subpar, with the cream sauce congealed, partially dried out and the spinach a bit overdone. The mashed potatoes were bland, minimally seasoned and dry. It was obvious that the vegetables were prepared ahead and left in a warmer. The waiter said a substitution was OK and when the bill came, the substitution was charged as an additional side. With ala carte options and prices on the high side, the bill can climb rapidly. Desserts were tasty and nicely presented. Our waiter was young, friendly and attentive but not fully versed in the nuances of the menu. Valet parking was a nice touch. We had a 10-minute wait despite being on time and having a reservation.

We stayed near this Founding Farmers in Potomac, Maryland for one week. We had dining several times for one week. Meals quality is improving slightly. We enjoyed our meals but we did not appreciate with waiter's attitude and prejudgment. Former employees said that they got a bad impression about front desk team, management people, and waiters. Neighbors shared stories with us too. There is a high turnover employees because they are not happy with management and team's attitude and prejudgment. You will not see authentic respect or warm welcome feelings. Also, they do not treat customers well. Birthday cake is not free for loyal customers. Other restaurants offer loyalty program like a free birthday cake for loyal customers. You should try Oak Lodge, Seasons 52, Jaleo, Silver Diner, and Brio. They are best than Founding Farmers related to loyalty program and customer appreciation. Founding Farmers does not have any loyalty program and do not offer appreciation for customers. Sometimes customers complained about rude approach and blatant attitude by waiters and by managers. Waiters often quit at Founding Farmers and you will not see these familiar faces next year.Thank you, BizVistitor for sharing your review with us. I am so sorry to read about the lacking service during your experiences with us while you were in town, and feel badly that our lack of a "loyalty program" did not sit right with you. :( I am also sorry for the disappointment caused by not offering complimentary desserts for Birthdays- we actually have candles available to place in any dessert ordered for any celebratory meal. This all said, we do appreciate your feedback and hope to have you back for another try sometime soon! Please call us for any reservation help needed: 301-340-8783. -Amy
