Came here after long walk around the coast, harbour and battery. Was really hungry so although all the specials had gone (Sunday afternoon, should have got there earlier! ) I opted for the bacon and cheeseburger. Very tasty homemade, coukd have done with more chips but hey thats just because I'm greedy! Friendly bar staff, brought my food outside, and I enjoyed the fresh air. Met some friendly locals, I will return !!

We ate venison with red currant jus: gorgeous flavour, melt in the mouth venison served with a creamy mash and veg. Fantastic! Followed by the lightest bread and butter pudding with extraordinary delicate flavours of apricot and vanilla with sultanas. Peter was very friendly, chatting to us about the food, the pub, his dogs. We had a brilliant experience at the Garvald Inn and will definitely be back.

A well maintained links golf course with lovely views overlooking the Firth of Forth with Bass Rock as a backdrop. Budget priced, friendly staff. A bit too busy for us having to wait to play most shots. Clubhouse was very tired and requires upgrading. Arrived expecting to have some lunch but found the menu very lacking and ended up with bacon rolls. We are sorry that you thought the club house was tired during your recent visit as well as the limited menu but the reason the menu was limited while you visited was due to us trying our best to upgrade the premises, as the day you visited we were in the process of upgrading the ladies toilets, which have now had a complete rehall. Due to this We felt we couldnât serve our usual lunch or dinner menu on that day due to the workmen being in and making considerable noise. We had posted to let our customers know of the situation. We have worked very hard over the last two years to update the club house and are trying to restore it back to its former glory but I am sure you will understand with the age of the building this is taking a great deal of time and money. Been many time over the last few years and always been happy with food and service, however the new Italian menu with 3 courses for £8.95 is the Dog's Bollocks, great food, fast service and friendly staff with good banter

This is a small unprepossessing restaurant attached to the Castle pub. The menu is traditional offering a good selection of favourites such as scampi, burgers, fish, chicken, steak. Service is friendly and efficient and the good is absolutely delicious! The best fish and chips weâve had for a long time. Excellent beer too. Great value - definitely going back. Thank you for a great meal.

Visited here a couple of times while staying in North Berwick. Very friendly service which was also fast and efficient. Good atmosphere. Only downside for us was one ladies toilet serving the whole bar therefore had to a que a few times.

I recently celebrated my birthday with family at the Waterside. The atmosphere in the bar always seems good even on a Wednesday evening. James was welcoming and attentive as always and really is a great host. Using the courtesy bus meant we could all have a drink for once.Everyone found something to suit them on the menu even the vegans! Thanks for a great night guys.

Nice restaurant in the centre of North Berwick. Good breakfast selection at very reasonable prices. Only down side on this visit was that there wasn't enough milk to go with the coffee and we had to ask twice for some more. Obviously hasn't put us off as we're going back with some other friends in a couple of days!

Chosen because two (particularly one) of the men were very plain eaters. Firstly we did get a bit lost on entry and ended up heading to the bedrooms. Our service was shared by a young man and a mature lady who were excellent. The 3 starters seemed to go well particularly the one who had the soup. I don't have a great appetite and was looking forward to the roast beef dinner so had just a roll and butter, too hot to handle and over microwaved! My beef was overcooked, so that and half of another's steak pie was kindly "doggie bagged" and it was well appreciated by dog lover companion's pooches. The "plain eater" had fish and chips and although he didn't say anything, he only ate about half of the serving. Apart from a lot of noise from a particularly busy bar we enjoyed our visit and were reminded of our visits to our local pubs in our younger days. Be prepared to run the "fag reek" gauntlet on entry and exit.
