Enjoy Beshbarmak (boiled meat mixed with boiled noodles, and spiced with onion sauce) in a Yurta (large, round tent with vertical walls and conical roof). However, sometimes they don't really let fresh air come in, so it may become smelly inside :-)Also, it may take waiters longer to show up once you need them. But my overall inpression is, it's the place to discover!

PASADO Restaurant & Bar

The first impression upon entering is the classical ambience of the place--a darkened European/ Russian feel with lots of browns accented with gold. But the large screen TV showing various tourist style scenes with pop jazz music causes dissonance to the setting. Then an extensive menu ranging from Uzbek, Asian, Asian-fusion to European and a few American dishes all at prices a bit higher than more local venues. This was my final night in central Asia before flying back, so I was looking for a break from 2 weeks of Kazakhstan / Uzbekistan cuisine that relies heavily on red meat. The tomato soup and chicken did the trick--tasty and satisfying. You can get more authentic local food elsewhere at a less expensive price, but this restaurant does serve a useful purpose with its additional choices.

This is a relatively new restaurant in Tashkent located in a residential neighbourhood. We were staying nearby at Art hotel and decided to check this place out for dinner. By this time, we wanted to eat non-local cuisine and this restaurant ticked the boxes, offering both Western/continental entrees and Japanese rolls. The ambience and setting of the restaurant is modern and swanky. There were other patrons and most appeared to well-dressed locals or business men. The food was competently executed - tomato soup had balanced flavors, the "Philadelphia Roll" was well made and the salmon was fresh, whilst the grilled chicken and beef steak "Mexican" style were succulent and done just right.Service was generally very attentive and good. Our tea and iced water was constantly refilled, dishes arrived in sequence and plates were cleared once we were done. It was ramadan and they offered all patrons a plate of sweets, preserved fruits and nuts which was a welcome gesture.. One of the young waiters spoke English although most of the staff did not. They do have a menu in english. In terms of pricing the restaurant would be very expensive by local standards, but we thought it was worth it. 20% service charge is added to your bill at the end, which is normal for restaurants at this price range. We spent about 160,000 som per person (no alcoholic drinks)

The place looked OK. Service was helpful, prompt and friendly.Altogether - exceeded our expectatrions

I visited Yapona Mama last week and have also ordered food from there a few times. They offer quality sushi at a moderate price. The restaurant dining area is small yet the ambiance is great with high quality service. The only issue I faced was the staff's inability to help me in English language. However a menu with clear photos of food offerings made the job easier at least till my Uzbek friends arrived. The restaurant has a good website and an efficient home delivery service.

A very interesting restaurant, well equipped and with a good layout of the tables. They accept international credit cards, which is not very common in the surroundings. The food is excellent, tasty. As a recommendation, local beers would be nice to have. Food price is convenient for international travellers, but drinks are very expensive compared to the food.

April Verdant Restaurant

The experience starts with the nice entrance, well-designed gardens, and very hot welcome. When you enter the restaurant there are traditional clothes where you can wear and make photos. If you want you can play drams with the local guys and start to enjoy the evening. The environment is very well designed, cheerful, with traditional motives and some modern lines around which makes you feel relaxed and good. There is a live music, dancers with very energetic music and dance shows. Strongly suggest getting this experience. The live band plays many different kinds of music such as modern pop, classic, local, etc.. I'm almost sure you may enjoy the music.the waiter and waitresses are very smiley and friendly during the service, you may feel nice during your dining. There is a much local taste of starters including soups which tastes delicious. Some of them are hot and spicy If you like you will be so happy. If not there are many other options, different salads, chicken, meat sausages, etc. The best part is the vegetables seem that they are all organic so you can really feel the real taste of the vegetables. which makes me feel happy frankly speaking. There are very nice hot starters, Samsa, pasta rolls with spinach, meat, and pumpkin. Many bread options and continuous green tea is being served. The main courses we have tried lamb and the beef tail. The meat is really well cooked, tasty and very soft to eat The taste was very nice as I guess they are fed naturally and organically probably. Of course, I shouldn't forget the fruits and the desserts. They a variety of desserts almost very nice & tasty. But I should admit that they are not the dessert expert. They are perfect on the meals. One of the drawbacks is smoking is allowed inside. But I see that many people respect and smoke close to the doors and windows which makes the environment somewhat fresh. But if you have kids you need to choose a nice place throughout the garden. The place is really big and high ceiling which makes you feel comfortable. It is close to the city center and easy to go. You may take a taxi with a very reasonable price. But don't forget to negotiate with private taxis or pay only for the taximeter in the official ones. I'm sure in the spring or summer time it will be a perfect place to enjoy also for breakfast as it has a very nice garden and a large area of the facility. I strongly recommend especially the tourists and business people to visit the place.

Central Asian Plov Centre

I'd recommend here for great plov and a local tashkent experience! It's mostly locals here (although there are tourists) so it's a great local experience! The plov is great and there's a few different varieties. They don't really speak English so I didn't really know the differences between them, but that didn't really matter! They are all pretty similar. It can be a bit confusing what to do but We just queued at the caldrons outside and got our plates there, then went inside and took a seat. Note that the prices behind the caldrons are for locals, tourist will pay 5000som (50c) more. It's still great value at about €2 for a big plate of plov! You can get table service, however there's no English menus and I'm sure it's more expensive. There's really no need. You can get drinks, bread, salads or tea at the back indoors, again just paying at the counter!I'd recommend!
