Reviews on Asian food in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. Pyeongtaek (Korean pronunciation: [pʰjʌŋ.tʰɛ̝k̚]) is a city in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Located in the southwestern part of the province, Pyeongtaek was founded as a union of two districts in 940, during the Goryeo dynasty. It was elevated to city status in 1986 and is home to a South Korean naval base and a large concentration of United States troops. The South Korean government plans to transform Pyeongtaek city to an international economic hub to coincide with the move of the United States Forces Korea (USFK) to Pyeongtaek. During the Korean War it was the site of an early battle between U.S. and North Korean forces, the Battle of Pyongtaek. It is the location of Pyeongtaek University.

I heard a lot of good reviews about this place from my coworkers, so I thought I'd give it a try. Their specialty is obviously chicken, but they also have several side dishes, salads, and rice to choose from. There are two locations in Songtan on the same street, about 50 feet away from each other. One is more formal (I think it has more Korean type cooking) with a black exterior. The other is less formal with take-out, showing red awnings (Sakusaku Chicken) in the front. This is the one I went to. There are only around seven tables and it's rather cramped inside. It's fairly clean. The tables are short and you sit on padded stools. It's very informal, don't go dressed up.I ordered the Hot Garlic Chicken and the Shrimp Fried Rice. The chicken had some spice "kick" to it that's for sure, and the fried rice was OK. The chicken did taste fresh and had a slight sweetness to it. It was good, but might have been slightly on the greasy side. You'll need a few napkins. If your in the mood to try Korean fried chicken, you want to give this establishment a try.

Here is a restaurant the my family has been visiting for 7 years on a bi-weekly basis. You grill your own meat at your table and serve it up in a lettuce or sesame leaf for a delightful treat you will never forget. Do not forget to order Toth-shi-da (memory box (shake vigurously before opening) with your dinner and Mool-name-yong (cold noodle soup) (add musturd and vinegar sparingly) after dinner is complete. I guarantee you will make this a routine stop when in the area.10 minute walk from Osan AB. Please excuse the spelling of meals, phonitically close though.

CY ( 2016.11.21 ) I and my wife visited for lunch with gomtang. This restaurant was broadcasted several times in famous TV program. There was many people waiting, so we waited about 20 minutes. We ordered gomtang and ox-tail gomtang, that's excellent. The gomtang was very delicious and the kimchi was very good. This gomtang was recommendable.

Enjoyed all our meals at this restaurant, especially the curries and the naan bread selection. Ask for spicier if you like it really hot - it tends to be on the light side with all the western patrons that frequent it!

This is a medium sized restaurant that allows tradition Korea floor seating as well as westernized tables/chairs. 2-ducks will feed 8 people along with the sides they bring and we ordered 2-sets of dumplings. Plenty of food and the pumpkin/squash was really good and paired wonderfully with the duck and horseradish mustard.

I like Thai food before taking a trip there. After going to Thailand and eating there, I realized the Thai food in Kroea was changed to fit the palette of Koreans and Westerners especially in Itaewon, this spot in Songtan with a Thai owner who really cares about the quality of the and it shows in each plate.

My niece and her husband eat here quite regularly as he is stationed at Osan Air Force Base. The food was really good and I enjoyed the small platter of egg rolls that they bring you. We’re from California and I am in awe that 4 people can eat dinner and the bill is under $50. Plus you get great service without giving a tip!
