Top 10 Art Galleries in Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai Province

June 21, 2021 Weston Hennigan

You could spend your whole Chiang Mai vacation exploring the famous Night Bazaar. Once you’ve exhausted the art of the cheerful haggle, however, there’s plenty more to explore. The National Museum and Botanic Garden are great places to soak up some local culture and to breathe in the delicate fragrance of Thai orchids. In the city’s center, the remains of ancient walls embrace over 30 temples. Limber travelers can climb 300 stairs to Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, an ornate Buddhist temple in the hills.

I visited the studio and received a great reception, there was immediately a relaxed admosphere and all brushes and things prepared to start, good advice and new ideas gained and a great help in techniques concerning water color painting, just a pity the lessons are only two hours a day you definitely want to do more in one day because you travel far, I will definitely go back there for more lessons.

Wattana Art Gallery

Wattana Art Gallery, Chiang Mai, Thailand Where can I see contemporary art in Chiang Mai? Tourists and art lovers are left asking this question after they have seen all the Wats and visited the craft villages. It has three floors full of original paintings in oil, acrylic and mixed media, ranging from smaller works to larger size murals. This private gallery is stunning. The building is beautiful and the art diverse and exquisite. The artist lives next door and was in the gallery when I visited. He is friendly and well-travelled. I ended up being invited to an opening. A visit here would be easy to combine with a visit to Wat Umong which is quite unique as well.
