This is a place you need to see. The capital of Dacia, it was an important spiritual center. Here you can even see the first paved road, many temple ruins and sacrificial tables.

The enclosure contains ruins from an ancient roman settlement including a forum, temples, markets and other buildings. The entire site is bigger than it seems initially and you should take at least an hour to visit. Mostly only the outlines of the structures walls remain and some parts of the columns, however they help give a good picture about the scope of the place.

Germisara antique Roman site was recently renovated so it is easy to visit the galleries and see how Romans thought to capture the natural warm water and to transport it to their baths. This visit will lead you back to the Antique Age.

The „Round Church” from Geoagiu, Hunedoara county, is the oldest stone church from Romania. It was built at the end of the 11th century by a noble Hungarian family. The edifice is made of Roman bricks that were reused from an ancient building that existed on the same stone bed. In 2012 the Round Church was open to the public and can be visited for free.
