Casually elegant Cafe Nuovo, at the Gondola Landing on Providence's famed Riverwalk, has been hailed by the New York Times and singled out by the Providence Journal as "RI's contribution to world class dining." The scenic waterside setting is matched only
Nuovo is located on the water in Providence. Great location, and it must be a prime seating for Waterfire. We had lunch there; Bolognese pasta and tenderloin risotto. Well done. Good portions.Try to sit outside on the terrace a great view of city from there. Will return.

Food is fresh and hot and delicious. Staff here couldnât be friendlier!! Annalee was my waitress and she was absolutely sweet and professional. This place is not to be missed!!

The train may have left the station, but you don't have to miss out on the most extraordinary steak around. Join us in Union Station for dry aged steak that The Providence Journal lauds as having, âonly gotten better with time.â Weâre just one block away
Went to Capital Grille in Providence for dinner during a business trip. Valet parking available. Reservation made through Open Table for 9:30PM, but I arrived an hour earlier than my reservation. I was seated in less than 15 minutes, however, the only available table was near the entrance. If you are working, reading, are dining with others, or are just non-distractible, this is the table for you, if not forgo. Manny, my server, was excellent and Andrew managed my table adeptly. Everyone was attentive, friendly and professional. Although I dined alone, I never felt overlooked for bigger parties, which has happened in the past in other establishments. I dined on Seared Citrus Glazed Salmon With Marcona Almonds and Brown Butter, with sides of Sam's Mashed Potatoes and Creamed Spinach. I opted for the smaller side portions. Rated the meal four stars. I wanted to love the Coconut Cream Pie With House Made Caramel Sauce, but sadly it fell short for me as far as taste. I was shocked about that particularly from the number of rave reviews I saw online and that this was their signature dessert. I must say that itâs presentation was awe inspiring and would have satisfied four diners easily. The hostess asked how it was going as well as Mark, the manager(?). At this point I shared my displeasure with the dessert. He offered another, which I declined and he had it removed from my bill. Mark, Manny and Andrew were genuinely dedicated in their customers having a wonderful gastronomic experience. My sincerest appreciation and thanks to you all! I rate the service five stars, food was four and overall a four and a half stars.

Wonderful mealâcaprese salad (basal a bit dry) melted in mouth; local oysters were very good (served with interesting shaved ice to cleanse palate). Dinners (Duck three ways; gnocchi with cauliflower, asparagus and peas in a light delicate sauce) were terrific and portions sizable. Excellent serverâMichaela. Wish we lived closer to come here often!

A highlight of coming to Providence is enjoying fine dining. Hemenwayâs fresh seafood entrees are second to none. We enjoyed swordfish, king crab legs, salmon and a NY strip. In Providence for RISD we looked for a gourmet white table cloth modern vibe venue. Gracies is it. Wonderful salad with locally sourced greens followed by fresh fish was cooked perfectly. Member of our party had pasta which was all dente and special. Excellent wines an elegant service. Iâll be back!

First, on a most positive side, the food was delicious and artfully presented. My sincere compliments to the chef and kitchen staff for a most wonderful culinary experience. Restaurant decor and location are pleasant additions but on a down side, acoustically it's a bit of a dining hall atmosphere but that can be accepted as the quality of the food makes the visit worth while. Now for a more negative review; the dining staff is in need of professional training as restaurant "awareness" is sadly lacking. Our food server walked by our table over eleven times without even a glance to see if we needed anything. My knife was cleared with the appetizer and when my entree was finished, the knife remained missing even after requesting one from the passing shift manager. My overall ratings are as follows:Food: 5 Stars Atmosphere: 4 Stars Service: 2 StarsIt's unfortunate that the dining room staff does not properly compliment the kitchenDear OldIronHip, Thank you for your honest feedback and we are thrilled to hear you enjoyed the food. I will pass along your compliments to the culinary team.We are however concerned that our service did not measure up. We have built our reputation on exceptional service that should complement the quality of our food. I am sorry that you received anything less than great service and I will be discussing your remarks with our team. That's not typical for us and I hope that if you do try us again, we can show you the high level of service for which we are known. We do value your comments and your business. Gratefully,Michael AccettaGeneral Manager

I was shopping at the Providence Place mall and searched brunch places near me and discovered The River Social. I had the waffle pops and they were absolutely delicious! They recommend coming back for their dinner and social hour and I canât wait to bring my friends! I will be back.

Went here for a flight of beers. Did not eat here. They have a good mix of beers but the flight was pretty expensive 4 for $15. Nice bar.
