The Lodge Sports Grille

As mentioned elsewhere, The Lodge is under new management, and, while this place was never bad, it is getting better. The menu is interesting and varied; something for everyone. The quality of the food is improving. The service, once spotty, is also good. There was a new manager, "managing by walking around" the other night, making sure everyone was served well. While is has a sports bar vibe with multiple TVs, it's also good for kids. There are large windows that on a nice day open to their outdoor seating. The outdoor tables are covered so ok on a rainy day (this IS Western WA). There is an extensive on-tap beer list, wine and specialty cocktails, too.

This is a fun, casual place to spend an evening with friends. They are usually busy for events, so plan to get there early. The food is actually pretty good (when comparing to your typical pub food). We usually get the street tacos, sliders and tater tots. They have large portions, so show up hungry! They also offer take out, which is a nice bonus if you want a snack to go. They serve breakfast on the weekends (Saturday&Sunday, 9-3pm), but we have yet to try that.

Specialty Cafe serving our in-house roasted coffee from Ethiopia, Guatemala and Panama. Fresh, organic gelato. Locally sourced pastries. And local craft beer.

The espresso here is strong and unlike any I've ever had. Served with a club soda chaser. As for the gelato, it's better than any that I've had in Rome or Florence Italy. I'm not kidding. It's so creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. Lots of great flavors to choose from. Baci flavor is my personal favorite. One of their most popular flavors is Rice and with good reason: smooth and creamy, subtly sweet with bits of cooked rice in it, reminds me of homemade rice pudding. The service is always great, and the atmosphere is always fun and friendly.

Stopped in for a Happy Hour drink and bite. The inside is nicely set up. We settled on the house margaritas and the Poblano spinach dip with pitas and chips from the happy hour menu. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. She suggested both chips and pitas because we could have more either way for free. The pitas were nice and soft not baked and crisp and went perfect with the dip. The drinks were really good. I will definitely come back for lunch or dinner some time.

We were a party of three. Server Amber was friendly and attentive. Started with the cheesy garlic bread which was fantastic, loaded with flavor (and of course, calories). Two of our group are originally from Texas and we thought the prime rib was excellent, perfectly prepared. The filet was good, but not great. The problem dish was the halibut. It was very dry, despite us asking specifically that the dish not be overcooked. That was a miss by the kitchen and/or Amber. Also, the garlic mashed potatoes that came with it were dry, almost rubbery. Tasted like it was the end of the day bottom of the bowl scrapings. Well it was 9:00, but they're open till 11:00.So a hit for the PM, but otherwise not so great.

My mom would never pay to go here, but when we come to town we make it a point to take her - and this time two extra aunts as well. The staff is always so welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The small garden salads are big enough for smaller appetites and it’s ok to substitute fruit for fries. The fish and chips are yummy but the pistachio crusted Halibut was a treat! Bonus points for house made ice tea!

Shawn O'Donnell's has always served the best Irish fare in all of Everett, and keeps their game consistently excellent. The drinks are poured full, when asked the fries are wonderfully extra crispy, and finally this branch sports the most incredible waitress I've ever had. If you're lucky enough to have her as your server -- or smart enough to ask for her -- Brianna is efficient, never intrusive, hilarious, and juggles orders like the consummate professional she is.
