Luby's Cafeteria Mall Del Norte

Reviewed By daviel55

I'm giving this particular Luby's an average rating because the quality of the food was not up to par to what I am accustomed to in San Antonio. I had the halibut fish with broccoli with some bacon shrimp on a stick. The fish was decent but the shrimp was cold. The broccoli was soggy. The only good thing was the bread roll. The staff was very friendly and treated us really well. Perhaps that is why I'm giving Luby's an average. Also, Luby's is not cheap. I don't mind paying for great food, but when it's average it really hurts my pocketbook. I hope management reads this review so that they can bring it up to San Antonio standards.

Not a good place for a vegan but my husband had the Ahi Tuna salad and said it was the best he had ever had. We were there on Mother's Day and they gave each mother which was very nice. One issue, there were 10 of us and 9 got their food and the last one took another 10 minutes. That should never happen. But, everyone enjoyed their meals and cocktails.

I love going there. Service is great, cocktails great, ambiance great, food great. You get out of work, go in and drink with friends while passing the time. Then ask for a botana and drink again. Later, go upstairs and your meal will have already been prepared and sit down to eat.

While in Laredo on business my wife and daughter wanted something all American instead of tacos... so a usual dinner and I will say the best waitress we've had this whole trip. I had the anything and everything salad with steak instead of chicken, wife had grilled shrimp skewer with grilled veggies and sweet potato., and daughter had kids rib plate. My salad was great as usual, wife's shrimp was dry and NO flavour at all bit everything else good. My daughter's was great.Good place and ok price. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed, John! However, we're sorry to hear that your experience wasn't the best. Great food, service and location. If you want to spend money while eating in a pleasant atmosphere, this is the place. I try to avoid eateries that attract families with small children because I want to relax and enjoy my company without screaming kids around, and I find that to accomplish this you have to find the more pricey places.Border Foundry seems to cater to the more mature crowd without being a stuffy restaurant.thank you for your kind words... hope to see you in soon..

We were very close to visit some kind of chicken place before we found Rudys, we didn´t ask for a recommendation or even search on the web but I was fancy a cold beer and my instinct drove to the parking of Rudys. If you visit Laredo you MUST go to this place. The service of the staff was great. There are big buckets of ice full of cold beers and they are perfect on the heat of Laredo. It was our first time so we received an explanation of how it works and even got some testers of the main meat options. My 2 years old baby loved, I mean, LOVED the turkey. So we got turkey, sweet corn cream and some bread slices. After our first visit we got back 2 times more. The only reason I don’t give the five stars is because of the “one time use” products they have all around like cutlery, glasses, containers, etc. I know this is the kind of business but our present it´s showing and demanding to do the things on a different way. Wherever you find a “Rudy´s” restaurant please make sure to stop by and enjoy a great Texas meal with a cold beer. (Les doy una mención especial por el staff que brinda atención en español para los extranjeros).
