Found this place in July 2015 and the food was awesome then. Recently went back and really fell in love with the food. The place is clean as a whistle. And the owners are so nice and friendly. The food was better than 4 star restaurants that I have eaten at. So anyone traveling through should stop and eat. Luv it

Nestled on a corner of a small road in the town of Sterling in the Poconos this little cafe offers good bistro fare at an affordable price. Known by the locals as having delicious breakfast and brunch selections another couple and my husband and I decided to try it ourselves. The luncheon menu has a large selection of paninis, wraps, hot dogs, burgers, and pizzas which can be accompanied by soup and salad. I selected the "chef's choice" which was a chicken club consisting of a panko chicken breast topped with pepper jack and cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion and their signature romoulade and potato chips. My husband's choice was a Philly steak sandwich, and both of us were happy with our meal. Our friends who are vegetarians were pleased that they could order from the menu and tried their peanut butter silk pie, one of their specialties, for dessert. Our waitress was very cordial and the owner/chef came to our table to see if we were satisfied with our meals. When next time we are in the area, we will return.

I have been coming here for over 40 years, since the bar used to be in the middle of the building. It was sad to see it waste away, and the new place is totally amazing! The Decore is beautiful and they definitely stepped up the food and menu! Not your typical nasty bar food, they have some really unique items on the menu. A much needed change for promised land!

Mom has scallops and baked potato and carrots and zucchini medley. Dad and I had a whole rack of ribs each and Dad had sweet potato fries and I had mashed red potatoes. The carrot and zucchini medley was excellent. The ribs delicious. Mom loved her scallops and had a dish of ice cream afterward. The coffee was freshly made. Everything was wonderful and we met a Sister and Brother waitstaff team that cannot be beat, nice to see Glenda too. It was a special crowd today and the whole team did well under pressure. Thanks so much for a great special meal! Sunday is also Saint Louis Rib Night!

We were on a road trip and stopped here after checking out another restaurant that didn't look like our cup of tea. It was a great find! The waitress was friendly and helpful. The food was awesome. I had a veggie omelet with home fries. Great coffee, too. Oh, and the prices were quite reasonable. It was the perfect place for us to eat.

Overboard's

Recently reopened by a previous owner. Food was fabulous. Tableside preparation of dessert crepes and bananas foster was very upscale, and yet very reasonably priced

The waitress and the bread were fabulous. Went downhill from there. They automatically assume if you're having seafood that you want rice which has loads of sundried tomatoes in it. There are no sides mentioned in the menu and we would have preferred mashed potatoes which they assume only goes with beef. Two of us had four overcooked small shrimp with Overboard stuffing which has no crab in it and lacked flavor. Everyone received the same veggie which was steamed broccoli, zucchini, and one slice of carrot....mostly bland zucchini. The two crab cakes lacked lumps of crab and were mostly filler. We all ate some of our food but three of us were unhappy with our meals. If I had my way, I would have returned my meal. Hubby ordered a bowl of tomato seafood bisque which he liked. Unfortunately, the chairs were so uncomfortable that he had to leave early and sit in the car. I had cold air blowing on me from a floor vent and it blew the napkin off my lap twice. The waitress asked if we wanted to bring home any food but there was nothing we ever wanted to see again. It was the worst meal we've eaten in a very long time. It was also VERY noisy and we couldn't hear each other which is strange because there aren't much more than a dozen tables.
