We hadn't been to the Metonga resort in a long time. Every time we've gone, it's been under different ownership and the food and service have always been lousy. Just recently some friends asked us to meet them there for dinner, and we thought we'd give it another try. What a mistake! The owner was rude, the dining room was closed so we had to eat in the bar, and it was so cold, we all ate with our jackets on! The drinks were good, but the food was mediocre at best. My sweet potato fries tasted like fish, so it's obvious they fried them in the same oil they fry their fish in, and the consistency of my chicken was like rubber. We have absolutely no intention of going back, and if we're asked to join anyone there again, we will politely decline.

My husband and I are in the area for our anniversary and went for a fish fry Friday night. My fish was terrible.....certainly not Haddock loins as advertised. Smelled and tasted very, very fishy, could not even eat it. My husband had a burger and said his was pretty good. Service was bad as well. I do not recommend it.

Stopped in for the Friday night fish fry. Asked for the walleye. I've had better fish sticks when I was a kid. Horrendous. Salad bar was spotty at best. Cheese curds were ok. I overheard the waitress tell a customer they didn't make margarita's there. Umm, it's a bar. We should have known the place was a train wreck when we had to get the cook and the waiter up from their table outside on their smoke break. If your gut tells you to leave a place, listen to it. Avoid this place at all cost. When we left I saw a For Sale sign outside. Another clue I missed.

We stopped for breakfast and ended up ordering the Sunday Super Buffet. Eggs were cold, potatoes tasted strange. The only thing on the buffet that was good was the French Toast sticks and Strawberry topping. We ignored the fact that no Omelets on the menu included potatoes. To us that normally indicates find another place to eat. We wonât return!

Good food and another great place for dessert. You can drive up, eat outside under the roof or eat in. There is a small place inside to eat if the weather is bad. Everyone is very friendly too.

Good food, nice staff, good price. Yummy dessert! A little slow on the coffee/soda refills, but I know we were there when one (younger) waitress was leaving and the other waitress had to cover all tables for about 1/2 hour before an additional staff came in. Our second waitress was very attentive. Other than that its an ok stop. Bar attached if interested as well.

We stopped here on a Friday night. The specials were listed on a small board behind the front door. We missed it and the waitress didn't mention them so we just ordered burgers from the limited menu. They were ok, the french fries were homemade but soggy. We thought $10 for a plain burger and fries was a little pricey. We had eaten breakfast there some years ago and it was good. I would try one of the other places in town before I'd go back to the Log Cabin.

The food here was very good. My wife and I had the broiled walleye that came with a delicious homemade soup (pea soup) and either a baked potato or locally grown wild rice. Our companions had the lightly breaded version of the walleye and breaded shrimp. It's a place for a large number of people and not particularly attractive. I understand that some nights they have very reasonably priced specials.

Water's Edge is my family's favorite restaurant of the Northwoods! The owner, bartenders and servers are welcoming and friendly. The food is good - I personally like their Saturday prime rib the most! They willingly accommodate my two daughter's who have food allergies. And best of all, I get to overlook beautiful Lake Lucerne while enjoying a cocktail at the bar or a game of pool with my kids! It's a little piece of heaven.

The gift shop had a nice selection of gifts but nothing special. Most things were expensive. My complaint is that I walked into the gift shop and out of the two people working there, not one said a word. Not a word all the time I was browsing either. My thoughts are this. If you do not have the time or manners to at least say hello, then I do not have the time to spend any of my money in your rude, really do not care that you walked through the door business. That's is very unfortunate! We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service! Im sorry you had this terrible experience! This will be discussed with my employees.Also, I work really hard on the items I choose to sell in my store and also, concentrate on selling unique and "special" items.
