A frequent guest at Duluth Denfeld Perkins on 40 th Avenue West and Grand, I am always curious to visit other Perkins in other states to compare. Same menu, different coffee pots, similar friendly and efficient servers. Ham and Egger served with whole wheat toast and hash browns. Same old. Same old. That's consistently good in my book!!!

We visited the Anchor Inn on one of their busiest nights - during the Winter Dance Party. They were very accommodating to our large group. The service was friendly and efficient. I enjoyed their sandwich called The Anchor - essentially very tender beef tips on s hoagie covered with multiple cheeses. I would go again anytime.

Obviously Clear Lake is a tourist town and is busy during the summer and this was when my 1st visit to the Back Yard Deli was. Food was good but service was lacking and minimal attention was given to me as the customer. Help seemed to be spread thin.2nd visit later in the year (early fall) was much better. Went before the lunch rush (about 11:15am) and what a difference! Only 2 other tables so the help was able to give more attention to the customers. Had the grinder and it was excellent. As I was finishing up my meal the older lady working offered me a refill on my pop before I left. Looking forward to trying something else on their varied menu next time I am in Clear Lake around lunch time. Just not when they are filled with tourists.

Was traveling back from Minneapolis with a friend and decided to stop by Clear Lake to grab something to eat before our onward travels back to Des Moines. Was pleasantly surprised with the restaurant as the service was immediate and the food was good. The parking is limited but I would encourage others to try this restaurant. A great place to eat while you catch the Clear Lake views. I had the Mac & Cheese Burger along with Oreo Speedwagon beer made by Lake Time Brewery. I have found my new outside restaurant along Clear Lake when traveling back from Minneapolis. I was pleasantly surprised with The Landing Inn that is right beside The Landing restaurant.

We went here with a group of 7 friends over this last weekend. The food was good and i thought the wait staff was very friendly and professional. We actually went there two night in a row and the waitress remembered us and what we liked. I was really impressed with this place.

Traveling north on I-35 at 6 pm, and still about two hours from home, we thought we would stop for dinner. We found this place which was close to the freeway. When we entered there was a large sign hand written with a Sharpie (see my photo) that said, "Please be courteous to the other patrons in the restaurant and refrain from using speaker phone while inside. Thank you". Sounds like they had a problem with that. However, while we were seated at a booth there were two men at a table nearby who were talking so loudly we could have still heard them if they had been 50 feet away. To the manager, it is not just the speaker phone problem. This is a simple place, not much for decor or ambiance and it seems the main reason people come here is for cheap food and couldn't really care about anything else. However cheap food often does not equate with quality. Yes prices fairly low and quantity is adequate. For example both my wife and I looked at the menu but chose to order from the specials on the whiteboard. My wife had the Popcorn Shrimp -$7.95, basic deep fried medium sized shrimp. I ordered the 3 Piece Walleye - $8.25, 3 pieces of deep fried (was it walleye?) walleye fillets, side of corn, cup of soup and a baked potato. It all tasted a little old, definitely not fresh, like all was previously cooked and had been sitting around them warmed up in a microwave. The soup was void of any dumplings and was there any chicken? Case in point, it arrived 7 minutes after ordering, not enough time to make the meal. I had a cup of coffee as well since it was evening and I still had two hours to drive, coffee was also old as had been sitting on a hot burner for hours. No refill please.The lady servers here are very nice and pleasant and really the only positive about the place.

We got there at 4:30 Saturday night so got a table and served right away. By 5:30 it was busy. Husband had the pork chops said they were very good. I had the fried shrimp which were flavorful and nice size. Our sister had the ribs and said they were very good and a lot of meat. Donât want to complain cause we love small quaint places like this but our server was not very attentive. Will go again.

It is a local go-to because it is very casual and inexpensive. We have been to the OP several times. It is usually busy. The prices are low and the portions are large. It certainly does not rank among the best eateries around, but the food is average or above and the service has always been good.

Open just a few hours a day, just a few tables inside, and a huge variety of food offerings. Some might be overwhelmed by having to approach the counter and order, but they should rest assured that the folks who are ready to take your order are your new best friends! Everything has great mouth appeal, we had a soup and sandwich combination along with a Reuben. We enjoyed the complexity of flavors, along with the warm and welcoming service!
