Great spot for hanging out and enjoying the afternoon and evening in Nuku'alofa. Delicious food menu and cocktails on offer and very friendly staff. Far removed from the madness of the Central Business District bars and the dance clubs. Easily the best bar in Tonga.

We dined here twice. Once on New Years Eve where we had a great dinner with cocktails and then, on our last evening we went to the cultural night which was sensational.The cultural night included dances not only from Tonga from also included Fiji, New Zealand and Samoa. Part of the show included some dances based on the Disney film "Moana" which was delightful. There were incredible fire dances including a lady performing a traditional Maori poi dance with fire instead of poi. It was one of those wow performances. The buffet was fabulous and included a variety of dishes including delicious traditional Tongan dishes. It was exceptionally well organised and you were able to get your main meal and dessert all at the same time. At the end of the evening, everyone had the opportunity to get up and have a dance. Access was also easy for those with mobility issues which was important as we were travelling with my elderly mother.I thoroughly enjoyed this evening and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to attend a cultural evening on the island of Tongatapu.

In Ha'apai for a business trip and discovered Matafonua Lodge...what a gem - lovely atmosphere - calming, relaxed, casual. Grab a cold drink from their well-stocked bar and sit on the beach taking in the ocean! Hosts, Darren and Nina are so accommodating and on to everything. Great to see such innovation in an out of the way place. The pizzas are superb - very tasty and for my husband who is not a pizza eater, the best he has ever had.

Luna Rossa was highly recommended by some friends but after having a glance at the kitchen, I was a bit disappointed. Food quality is fine but not impressive. Service is really good but I think kitchen and the ambiance of the restaurant should be improved.

We were very happily surprised at the level of the dining. We stayed at the lodge and were quite happy with accommodations (see separate review). All of our meals were excellent. We had 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts, and tried other restaurants as well. Service was always very friendly, fast and accurate. It was very pleasant to sit on the veranda, getting cool breezes with supper.Eggs in the morning were cooked perfectly to our specifications and bacon was sweet with a (?) brown sugar flavor. Our dinner choices included, prawns (served cold on a salad), glass noodles with spicy pork (not spicy, just wonderfully flavorful), beef fillet (very tender and cooked correctly; served with a delicious red wine reduction), chicken "Gordon Blue" (stuffed breast with cheese and bacon and a yummy sauce) and octopus (very tender and full of flavor).All sauces on the dishes were just right in quantity and had marvelous flavor. Well done, Seaview!

Tuna sashimi glisteningly fresh & absolutely melt in your mouth tender - possibly as good as Iâve had anywhere! The grilled lobster was plentiful & well cooked. All this for about AUD $41 - a steal.Donât expect fine dining or wonderful decor - itâs all about the food!

We had an omelette from the all day menu. Came with toast and jam. Very generous portion with fresh vegetable filling. Good coffee too. Great location right on the water. Can watch the yachts and tenders come in.

While in Tongan I was taken out for a meal to this amazing restaurant. Two of us had the mahimahi. This was a generous portion, cooked to perfection. Well presented. Staff very attentive. This is a lovely restaurant in a beautiful setting. The presentation of the meal was very good.Thank you for your kind review. I have eaten at this restaurant over the last three years while visiting Vava'u and I have nothing to complain about. I have found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The food is consistently good, and a great selection to choose from, good size portions and I believe is priced well. I have been there for lunches and dinners and will go again the next time I visit.It is on the harbour, so it is nice if you are dining there for lunch.I do recommend you make a booking, as it gets busy especially for dinner.
