Loved the hotel

I can’t imagine a better place to stay in Tomar. easy location to walk around any part of the town nice rooms and the best shower we found in a two week stay in Portugal! (Not to be under estimated). there’s a lovely rooftop sitting in viewing area and there’s lovely hospitality when you arrive in the afternoon with complimentary port. breakfast is not included but you can add it for an additional seven euros.

Perfect hotel to visit Tomar

Reviewed By Maxwell S

Hotel dos Templários Very large and modern hotel just steps from Tomar’s historic center and a 15 minute walk (uphill) from the massive Convento de Cristo which towers over the city. Spacious manicured grounds next to the river and a canal include a large swimming pool and terrace. Parking is plentiful and included in your room price. The lobby is immense and stylish. Our room (225) was very large and had windows overlooking the grounds and city. You can upgrade to a room with a balcony. The spacious foyer had a large clothes closet which included a safe. A refrigerator is in the room. The bedroom was also very spacious and had a sofa and two chairs and a king bed. Plenty of power plugs everywhere but no designated USB ports. The bedside sconces included flexible reading lights. The bathroom had a large tub and a separate shower stall which was somewhat small. The sink had a large counter but no shaving/makeup mirror. The wall mounted hair dryer was somewhat annoying as you had to hold the button down the whole time and the tightly coiled power cord was very short and resisted being pulled out. Breakfast was a sumptuous buffet. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Very highly recommended.

A wonderful find in the heart of Tomar

Reviewed By FanIAm

Though the lobby is a bit unassuming you are fully delighted once you go upstairs to both your sleeping quarters and the lovely common area with honesty bar. The rooms are total luxury. We booked two superior deluxe rooms on the second floor--the one for our teen sons had the biggest bed I've ever seen! IT was essentially two doubles pushed together. Our room had the most comfortable bedding and lovely bathroom. Finally we got scrambled eggs with our breakfast--after many mornings in Portugal with just cold cuts and breads. And something I've never seen in 50 years of travel--individually wrapped cinnamon sticks with your coffee. Enough to bring me back! In fact I'm returning with a large group of friends next year and this is where we'll be heading.

Hotel Republica

Right in the heart of the Templar city of Tomar, the Hotel República is the best place to find out what it means to be Portuguese. The Hotel República arose from the dream of a son of this land. The portuguese product was always the first choice and that is why the hotel was built, equipped and decorated only by portuguese companies.

Highly recommended - quality accommodation with great balcony and view

Reviewed By jone92

Arrived in Tomar and found the accommodation we had booked was pretty grotty we had to find somewhere to stay at short notice. Absolutely delighted we found this hotel which had availability and was central in Tomar. Booking direct they bettered the rate we could find online and when we asked to see the room before saying yes it was no problem and we were told with confidence that we would like the room. We certainly did. It had plenty of space and was finished to a very high standard and looked like it had been renovated recently. Had a kitchen area on our floor which was handy and a fridge and nespresso machine in the room. The crowning glory was the big terrace which had electric blinds which, when raised, revealed a fantastic view of the Templar Castle and convent - a real Wow! Would thoroughly recommend this place - superb and host very helpful.

A very nice rural accommodation

Reviewed By Kevin S

A very nice rural accommodation. Our room was one of three in a row with a pleasant garden view just 25 metres or so from the sparkling clean swimming pool. The room was a good size equipped with fridge, tv we didn’t try, powerful shower and clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a selection of yoghurt, egg choice with ham and cheese and a bread selection with butter and jams, tea or coffee and juice, always offered more if needed. Quiet and within a 20 minute drive to Tomar. There was one issue on our first night, a Monday, as the few local restaurants all close that day leaving a night drive back into town the only option> If you are here on a Monday evening just be prepared and bring some food and wine to sit on your patio for a continued relaxing stay. .

Great host, loved the skylights! we

Reviewed By pantera623

The room was nice, big and clean. The owner was an awesome guy and even came for lunch with me when I arrived while my room was being cleaned. It was really close to the bus station and about a 10-15 minute walk to the centre of the old town. I really liked that my room had a big skylight that was able to be opened. My only complaint is that I wasn't able to drop my bag when I arrived so it forced me to haul it all over town with me. Everything else made up for it though.
