A wonderful relaxing cafe/restaurant beside the mangroves, near the beach.
Very quick pizzas. Yummy to boot!
From all the restaurants we went to in Madagascar this one was the fullest both times so guessing others agree with our thoughts that it's really good.
Decent midrange prices too.
Well worth a visit.

Chez Maggie Hotel Restaurant 'Le Masoandro'

Le Masoandro Restaurant & Bar "The Sunshine" Restaurant & Bar offers a wonderfully relaxed and comfortable setting. Guests are greeted with quality service and a smile, and have the opportunity to dine on some of the finest cuisine to be found anywhere. The menu selection is based on the flavorful fruits, vegetables, seafood, meats and cheeses of the country. Each day local fishermen deliver their catch and our chefs prepare the "Fruits of the Sea" to perfection. House specials include crab and BBQ jumbo shrimp - with that special Malagasy touch. The large thatch-roofed restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy a superb meal, and a wondrous sunset over the Mozambique Channel. Our full service bar features Yvettes's famous Coco Rum, a variety of local libations and Morondava's widest selection of imported whisky and scotch.

Breakfast was nice and you could get eggs to order, fruit, pastries, juices, coffee. All good. Especially liked the local jam and honey.
Lunch was our favorite meal because you didn't end up with too much food. Pretty much the same menu as dinner but dinner comes with 3 courses - all of them humongous.
We especially enjoyed the garlic crab (in broth) served with lots of fresh bread. We also loved the Romazava - a one pot dish of chicken, pork or beef stewed in ginger-flavored broth with lots of local greens, plus rice of course.
Portion sizes for fish, beef, chicken, etc had to be at least 12 to 16 ounces, plus starch and vegetable. I don't know how anyone could eat a large appetizer plus this huge plate full. And then dessert?!! Unless your dinner is included in your room rate, I recommend you split a meal.
Seating is "open air" so bring a sweater for cooler evenings and wear mosquito repellent. Full bar; decent wine list; cold beer.

Every tourist group seems to stop here, and Mad Zebu seems to get many, many excellent reviews. I agree that the food is fabulous and if you are passing through Belo, this restaurant is a must stop. What amazes me is that Mad Zebu is in the middle of nowhere, in a small village. This restaurant gives me hope for Madagascar and its climb into the developed world.

We came for seafood like lobster but there was none, so we ordered similar thing, the bay lobster. The grilled bay lobsters we ordered were so fresh delicious, although a bit too salty. The other dishes of shrimps were ok too, though not impressive.
The ambiance was so so.

Lovely Italian menu. Ordered a local fish filet with sautéed potatoes. Cooked perfectly and served with a lovely sauce – you get to choose the sauce you prefer. We sat outside where there were several expat regulars dining.. There is a small bar inside. We ordered South African wine by the glass. Solid cuisine and nice atmosphere.

we went there a group of colleague one sunday evening. We had spent the afternoon on the beach and had ordered "langouste" (lobster) for the dinner. Food was ready at the time we had asked..... but it wasn't exceptional. Lobsters were dry and portions size was not great.
