Village Izukogen

Located in Izukougen, we are a condominium-style resort hotel, offering magnificent panoramic views from an elevated location. Enjoy a comfortable, resort-villa experience. Our guest rooms feature a luxurious layout, with separate bedrooms and living rooms. All rooms are built to a suite specification, allowing a sweeping view of the ocean. Each room includes a vista (ocean-view) bath. The breathtaking ocean and mountain views will sweep you away from your everyday life. We also have an outdoor hot springs facility, where water gushes up from our own private source, and where you can watch the starry night skies, while enjoying the clean, fresh air as you soak.

Good location. Nice rooms but in need of renovation.

The standard rooms are large condominiums with a living room, Japanese style tatami room, bedroom, and kitchen. They are in need of serious refurbishment. Carpets are dirty, and our living room ceiling had a leak with water dripping onto the carpet throughout our 4 night stay. The views from all rooms are amazing as the hotel sits on the top of a hill. We had a minor problem with our kitchen. It was clear they had just plugged in the refrigerator just before our arrival as it was not yet cold. As a result some of our food went bad. It wasn't until the next day that it was cold. Be warned that they do not provide any kind a bell service, you're expected to bring all of your belongings to your room by yourself (extremely difficult when it's just you and a 3 year old). Also, if you plan on using the kitchen, it's best to reserve cookware and dishes in advance (¥1,100 each per stay) as they are limited. Another thing to note is that I would not recommend coming here by train, as the station is quite far from the hotel. Shops and restaurants too. Lastly, the beds are very firm and uncomfortable. Something to consider if you're a sensitive sleeper. I would highly recommend staying here if you can find a rate of ¥10,000 or less per night. Otherwise look for someplace else.

Noise from speakers on beach a summer problem here

Reviewed By JeansTshirt

This is a nice hotel but unfortunately during summer the beach lifeguards shout all day into speakers and the loud noise enters the room even with windows closed. The loud noise is unnecessary and very uncomfortable in these beach front rooms. If you are on the beach the noise is worse of course. They need to fix the summer noise pollution. The hotel should speak to the city office about this. My family would like to stay again during this coming 2020 summer but the noise is a big issue. Many other people staying at the hotel have the same issue.

PRINCE NO MORE

Reviewed By meinschatz225

We went here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and because we got a good deal so we continued our trip even though it was 250km away from our house. Unfortunately, we were the ones who were surprised at this hotel. When we entered the lobby, it smelled strange something like dog's urinated on the carpet. I thought only the lobby smelled stingy but even the hall way leading to our room smells awful. Cockroaches and other insects is our company the whole time we were there it's like our room is their playground! Their onsen has really become obsolete they need to renovate this hotel because it looks like it was built in the 70's because of the interior you'll just know how long this hotel has been standing. I think they should re-think the concept, to make it better an even more pleasurable to stay.??☹️

Reviewed By TriStar1123
