If you are passing through this small town...you must stop here. The food is amazing....and the gentlemen who wait on you are also amazing. Everything is thoughtfully made and so many different plates to try. The Spicy Clementines are so tasty..
Would definitely eat here if I were to visit this again.

On a day visit to Tizimin and quick walk around, we concluded that our culinary expectations should not be high. Tizimin is a "typical", bustling, small Yucatan town. We came across Cesar's by chance: we wanted lunch and Cesar's is just off the main plaza. It has plastic chairs and tables (with cloths) set out on the sidewalk, and appears to be part of a hotel. Great welcome from the staff. Not many foreigners in town. We were also not encouraged by the laminated menus, which nonetheless and helpfully pictured a wide range of choices that were on offer. Started with freshly made guacomole and corn chips, which were great, washed down with local lemonade. But the pieces de resistance were the steaks that followed - arrachera and ribeye (x2) - which were tender, tasty, and the best I've tasted outside Argentina. Total for 3 persons: 710 Mexican pesos. If we return to Timizin, we will certainly go back to this restaurant. It's nothing fancy, but apart from being very friendly, courteous and helpful, the wait staff spoke a little English and the restaurant takes cards. Our day in Timizin ended on a high note.

There is upper level dining overlooking the street, but I choose a sidewalk table. , which was actually in the street. I had a Ribeye Steak dinner, with all the typical trimmings, tea, dessert, and a beer, . . . all for 235 pesos, before tip. That's about $14. The whole dinner was very good. The wait staff was very attentive. They went the extra mile to communicate with me. I spoke a little Spanish, and they spoke even littler English. But I did get what I ordered. Excellente' !!

We stopped here for lunch. The waiter was excellent explaining the various dishes on the menu. We chose lime soup and cheese nachos. The soup was delicious with shredded chicken and pieces of carrot in a clear soup with a subtle lime flavour. The nachos were covered in lots of tomatoes, onions and local melted cheese.
The owner stopped at our table to chat and introduced us to the Yucatan anis/honey digestive of Xtanben. A very enjoyable atmosphere and lunch.

The food really is delicious and everything is cooked fresh. The ceviche is excellent and very popular. They also serve my favourite beer, Bohemia Obscura, which is a bonus. Don't go hungry... you may have a long wait! We waited over an hour and weren't given any nibbles. I would suggest ordering a snack or ask how long the meal will be. When the food arrived it was great.

Honestly one of my favorite places I've been so far in Mexico, which is a surprise find in Tizimin. I got raw fish with avocado (can't remember the Spanish name), and it was amazing! Also the service was great, they had a nice waitress that spoke great English, and the cost was reasonable. Highly recommended!
