We had a very enjoyable energizing hike through the valley of the beautiful tropical rainforest. Well maintained gardens with lots of biodiversity.

We happily headed directly on the cablecar over the 370 hectares of National Natural Reserve, then walked leisurely back over the observation decks (1.5hrs.) Our highlight was visiting the Asian Elephant Breeding & Rescue Centre, Wild Elephant Valley, Xishuangbanna. We were very fortunate to see Yi-Nuen (mum) & Yi-Sheun (baby,) Asian Elephants out in the wild. Great day (top tip: avoid ‘school’ & ‘dance’ shows at the main entrance.)

Large garden with different sections, lots of exotic plants and trees, you can spend a whole afternoon or morning there, has a grassy area to sit on, quite popular with tourist groups, electric buggy available to take you around the park if you want, but costs 40 rmb, in spite of many tourists there are still lots of quiet areas to enjoy, not crowded.. It is a research facility too. Entrance ticket about 55 rmb, discounts for students and over 60s with ID.Great visit if you like gardens.
