July 28, 2021 Brain Ambrose

Worcester (/ˈwʊstər/ WUUS-tər, locally [ˈwʊstə] ( listen)) is a city and the county seat of Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States. Named after Worcester, England, as of the 2010 Census the city's population was 181,045, making it the second most populous city in New England after Boston. Worcester is located approximately 40 miles (64 km) west of Boston, 50 miles (80 km) east of Springfield and 40 miles (64 km) north of Providence. Due to its location in Central Massachusetts, Worcester is known as the "Heart of the Commonwealth", thus, a heart is the official symbol of the city. However, the heart symbol may also have its provenance in lore that the mass-produced Valentine's Day card was invented in the city.

Redemption Rock Brewing Co.

Redemption Rock Brewing Co. is a craft brewery, taproom, and cafe in Worcester, Mass. We make beer for people. "Beer for people" means that we brew beer not just for beer nerds, but also for casual fans, and traditionalists and experimentalists alike. We aim to provide high-quality, fun beer in all its forms. Also, as a registered Benefit Corporation (B Corp), we’re dedicated to working for the community. It’s an essential part of our business, and we’re continually looking for new ways to support local organizations, partner with local businesses, and be a better kind of employer and corporate citizen. Every time I go to Redemption Rock, I have a great time. They are always accommodating if I ask to try a beer before ordering and it seems like they always have something new on tap. There's plenty of space and tons of board/party games. They do not offer much food but do allow you to bring your own. They also pride themselves on offering their employees a living wage, so all tips are donations towards select charities!

This place made me So Hoppy! We had a couple of beer flights to sample their goods. My husband and I enjoyed most of them, which is a plus for a local brewery. Their signature beer, So Hoppy, was easy to drink on their outdoor patio. Loved their attitude and swag!
