When you think “adventure travel” you probably think of far-flung places like Belize and Alaska—not Wisconsin. But if you’re an outdoor adventurer, you’ll find plenty of places to explore in Wisconsin. A vacation in Wisconsin can put you close to the Kettle Moraine State Forest, which has excellent biking trails. Or choose Wisconsin’s Apostle Islands—kayakers will love exploring Lake Superior’s many caves and shipwrecks.
Packers fans don’t wear those cheese-wedge hats for nothing! Foodies will love tasting as many of Wisconsin’s artisanal cheeses as possible. Either drive from cheesemaker to cheesemaker, or choose a Wisconsin vacation in a town with a good farmers’ market—then the cheesemakers bring their wares to you. And what goes better with artisanal cheese than craft beer? In Milwaukee, visit the Lakefront and Sprecher Breweries for tours and tastings.
Wisconsin Dells is a classic family vacation destination. A vacation in Wisconsin Dells will put you close to all the excitement—you’ll have to tear the kids away from the theme parks, wave pools and water parks in Wisconsin Dells!
Lake Geneva boasts clean beaches, golf, and a small-town feel that definitely appeals to city dwellers—it’s a popular getaway for residents of Chicago.

Beautiful, well-tended course soon to be one of the best championship golf courses in the world.
I can't say enough about the experience at Whistling Straits that a buddy and I had in early September. We had an 8am tee time on a Sunday and from booking, to drop off, to post-round shopping in the pro shop, we had an exceptional experience! The bag drop was a buzz of activity, and check in was a cinch. The driving range is a short walk and the putting green steps away from the starter's podium. A nice touch with a pre round chat on course history and the gift of a WS tees/markers bag and bag tag. We lucked out with calm, cloudy conditions with temps in the 60's and winds 8-10mph and a great caddie. Ask for Trace Gardner-- a good guy with a terrific demeanor/sense of humor, deep knowledge of the course, and a quick read on your game. He coached shots brilliantly and I couldn't have carded an 86 without him. Course conditions were pristine, with some of the best fairways I've ever played, with quick and true greens. The course can be both spectacular and punishing and I was surprised to have lost only 2 balls all day. Take in the 4.5 hour walk and the beauty of Lake Michigan, Pete Dye's gem, the birds, the sheep, the crickets, and the occasional shouts of joy/disgust. If you agree that value is defined by, "what you get for what you pay for", Whistling Straits is a great value, even at just over $600 (including caddie tip), and a round that I'll never forget.

Five Mini-Golf Courses - 91 Holes. Beautiful Landscaping.
Visited location with a friend while we were in the area for the weekend. Pirate's Cove has 5 different 18+ courses that you can play. We ended up playing four of the five courses over a 4+ hour span on a Friday afternoon/evening. Would have played the fifth course as well, but it was temporarily closed at the time. The courses are range from easy to hard difficulties, so you have a lot of choices of what sort of courses you wish to play. The decor is fairly standard throughout the location, but there are some variations that keep things interesting (i.e., waterfalls, bridges, tunnel/cave, etc.). Prices aren't cheap, which can make playing multiple courses and/or with multiple people rather steep. However, they provide a ½ off price deal for each course played after the first. Location offers other options in addition to the mini-golf courses. There's a play area for kids as well as a sun dial that is pretty neat to see. They also have some candy and ice cream shops for those desiring a treat after playing some games.

Award-winning 36 holes of challenging golf consists of two 18-hole, Pete Dye-designed layouts: River Course and Meadows Valleys Course.
Just played Blackwolf Run yesterday. Great condition, challenging, need a forecaddie for sure, and just plain fun! One the most scenic courses I’ve ever played-runs along trout streams and beautiful Wisconsin woods. Saw eagles, deer, etc. really lucked out with weather. A destination experience.

Located on the shores of sparkling Lake Como, just a few miles west of Lake Geneva, this championship course is the result of a collaborative effort between Lee Trevino, Gary Player and Arnold Palmer. Fifty-four holes of memorable golf are surrounded by hundreds of acres of oak, hickory and walnut trees, rolling meadows and glistening ponds.
Dined at the Hunt Club Steakhouse. By far the best(strongest) drinks in Wisconsin. The Lemon Drop martini is a must when you go. The service and food was the best I have ever had! Felt welcomed and treated very professionally. Also, stayed in the Fairway Suites which was nothing more than spectacular! I look forward to coming back very soon and would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a great golf experience.

This is a good well-kept course with plenty of interesting holes, a good deal of up and down fairways, and some terrific views of Lake Superior. It's not a premium quality course, but for the price it is a bargain. It's plenty challenging and just a lot of fun. The staff were nice and helpful, and there is driving range so you can warm up a bit before a round. I would gladly play this course again.

We played here, Pirate’s cove, and Johnson’s. Red Putter was the most challenging and engaging; and thus our favorite. But the course is a bit tight so during Covid times we did feel a bit on top of others while waiting to putt.
