Wildwood Dog Beach

Reviewed By tskatuler - West Chester, United States

We live in Cape May but we split our time between Maple Avenue in Wildwood and Higbee Beach in Cape May. These are the BEST dog beaches in the area. Both are always crowded with fur babies. ❤️???? Wildwood has their own entrance on Maple Avenue that goes under the boardwalk. Highly recommend bringing a wagon or carrying your pup, if small. The sand gets very hot and it’s not a short walk to the water. They do have a plank walkway to make the walk more bearable though. If you stay near the boardwalk vs heading toward the ocean, there’s a fenced in park- one section is for large dogs and the other section is for small dogs. Just look for the large red fire hydrant- that’s how you know you’ve arrived at the dog beach. Dogs are not allowed on the Wildwood Boardwalk between Memorial Day and Labor Day unless they’re in a wagon or stroller. You won’t get yelled out though if you’re just making your way from the parking lot to the dog beach. At the beach, keep your dog leashed. Dogs are not allowed to roam free. You will be asked to leave if your dog is off the leash. After 6P, depending on the amount of people, you may have a little more freedom. The dog beach is not very wide- look for the markers. Also make sure you clean up after your dog and yourselves. Bring lots of water, an umbrella or shade tent for your dog and enjoy!!
