Horse Neck Beach State Reservation

Reviewed By coralg247 - Westport, United States

Just beyond Horseneck Beach is Gooseberry Island. You access the island by a causeway. There's a nice parking lot there, bathrooms, a great beach, and walking trails. People also fish there. The views from the island are lovely. You can watch the fishing boats, cruise ships, and large boats as they head into the ocean. On weekends, there are lots of sailboats. The sand dunes are loaded with all sorts of oceanside plants. Although it is a busy place, you can find solitude by taking one of the sandy paths to places around the island. I love walking here. This island is a part of the Horseneck Reservation.
