I went to Kingsstable to book a ride as I always like to see the conditions and place where the horses are kept. And I found a spacious, open stable with a nice paddock for the horses. The owner is not only a passionate horsemen, he cares a Lot about his horses, has a good knowledge about general and medical issues with horses and if there is a problem he takes a lot of efford to solve it. Great expert ride with 4 year old Palomino horse Marpati and the owner Zaen in the morning (7 am, its worth it ! Before the Island is awake (-; ). Marpati loves the water, you might get wet ! Big recommendation!

Operating since 2004, Stud is the original horse riding facility on Gili Trawangan. We have horses to suit all levels of rider including complete beginners and children. All safety equipment including helmets and chaps are available and included in the prices. At Stud, the welfare of our horses is our main priority. We import feed and supplements for optimum health.

Awesome set up with beautiful ponies who are all so well looked after and loved. The staff are super friendly, and will be there for inexperienced riders to help them, or if you already have experience you can go by yourself and enjoy a beautiful ride along the beach at sunset. The ponies are all super cute, and the guys will get some epic sunset shots for you whilst you ride. It was so important that I found a place where the animals are well looked after, and these guys are the best on the island by far! Hand cut grass, import feed, clean dry bedding and a lovely spacious relaxed yard for the ponies to run around and be free. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone on the island!

Kuta Horses Lombok : horse riding in unspoiled spectacular landscape Located at 20 minutes by car from the brand new airport of South Lombok, Kuta Horses provides horse riders with authentic and naturally preserved sites : pristine beaches, bays, valleys, hills with breathtaking views and ricepaddies, tobacco fields or little traditional fishermen villages. As the area is very wild we can go everywhere without any restrictions. From one hour to a full day trip we can do everything you want. The 6 western-sized horses are tall and healthy, they have been selected for their endurance and personality, they are very well trained. Our equipment is only handmade comfortable leather brands as Stübben or Forestier. All treks are with a guide speaking at least English. We welcome all type of riders (even beginners). We can provide also lessons on the site. Maximum weight for a rider : 90kg. If you stay in the village, we can pick-you up in Kuta and bring you back home for free. For 1 hour it costs 450.000 Rps (around 30 €), 650.000 Rps for 1h30, and 750.000 Rps for 2 hours. We only ride on "cool" hours like early morning (7 or 8 a.m.) or between 4 and 6 p.m.

We did two rides on both Saturday and Sunday, 2 hours each day with Kuta Horses. Day 1 was visiting the beaches nearby and the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. This was honestly one of the most stunning scenic view we had seen. We rode to the top of the hill to overlook the beaches and the ocean. The ride was a nice pace which gave us plenty of time to enjoy the view. Unfortunately, there is a lot of plastic and garbage along some of the beaches (near Segar beach) which is a reminder for all of us to care for the environment and reduce (and if possible eliminate) the use of plastic as it is awful for the environment. Of course the pollution is not the fault of Kuta Horses but rather we should all be cognizant of our footprints and impact on this Earth. Otherwise, all the beaches that we passed and walked on were very quiet and beautiful. The water was so blue and pristine. The second day, we went to visit the nearby villages which provided an interesting perspective and insight into how some of the villagers and locals in the area lived. The children were very happy and excited to see the horses as there are not that many around, especially not the big type of European horses. We had a great time on both days and also happy to see that the horses look strong and healthy. The horses that we had were very well behaved and obedient in general. It was a lot of fun and we would highly recommend this whether you're looking for something romantic, picturesque or a unique adventure. The trip was well organized and well facilitated. If we get a chance to go back to Lombok we will definitely go back to ride with Kuta horses.
