PROVANS with Veronica and Nicolas is among the greatest tours we'd been. They extended their efforts to work with our schedule, picked us up at our hotel, then we had a terrific day through the Provencal countryside. We are looking forward to joining other tours by them in our next trip to the area. Or, even better is to arrange a bespoke itinerary out of the usual spots. Highly recommended!

This is a review about our experience "so far" with Christopher and Ooh Provence. A number of months ago, as usual, I did extensive research and found a photographer and I contacted him to see about a photo experience while in Marseille. He responded immediately and then told me about his tour company which extends beyond just photography. It was perfect...a guide that could help 2 amateur photographers get some unique shots in a great city plus learn about the history at the same time. I find this is a great way to explore a city. So, of course ,I booked and paid the deposit etc. and we confirmed our date. Then along came Covid 19 and I finally had to cancel .This company offers full refund up to 24 hours in advance of tour and Christopher had no problem with an immediate refund. I will add that is not the case with some hotels etc. I am so impressed with the customer service under very extraordinary circumstances and will definitely book with Ooh Provence in the future when we can return post Covid. Based on my experience so far I am sure we will have a great time touring Marseille and the surrounding area with Christopher. I often find the true test of a good travel company is how they handle unexpected problems and can be flexible. Christopher delivers on this for sure!!

8. Absolutely Avignon gardens, history & cultural private guided tour

Porte de l'Oulle, 84000 Avignon, France OohProvence

This is an exceptional guided day tour to visit both Villeneuve-lès-Avignon and Avignon the city of the Popes. It's only the river Rhône that separates them both, but history indisputably links them. Around 1000 AD Benedictine monks built St André Abbey on Mount Andaon. It's here that we begin our tour with a visit to the Abbey private gardens and Fort. The market town of Saint André became a fortress under the influence of the King Philippe Le Bel, who wanted to control access to the Rhône between Avignon and the Gard following annexation to the French crown. From here we take a walk down to visit La Chartreuse, a former monastery at the centre of the village. Exquisite frescoes connected to the Palais des Papes and an opportunity to explore the site before taking a break for lunch. Then return to Avignon via the Tour Philippe le Bel, once the entrance to the famous Pont d'Avignon. A walk on the bridge before a guided tour of the Palais des Papes, a most spectacular historic monument.

Inclusions: Admission to FIVE historic sites including La Chartreuse & Palais des Papes, Air-conditioned vehicle

Exclusions: Lunch
