Yileena Park

Yileena Park is a family owned Cellar Door, Winery and Vineyard located in the beautiful Yarra Valley just one hour drive north east of Melbourne. The vinyard was established in 1998 and comprises 5 acres of Pinot Noir, 5 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and 2.5 acres of Merlot. It is situated on a north facing slope at the base of the Christmas Hills which keep it cool and protected. And the grey loam soil surfaced over a rock studded clay base make it ideal for growing premium wine grapes. The vineyard is pruned to produce between 1-2 tones of fruit per acre which allows the vines the opportunity to completely ripen the fruit. Our watering system is an American Sub-surface drip irrigation type, which delivers the water and organic liquid fertilizer directly to the vine’s roots. It allows for excellent control over our watering which we judiciously monitor. The unique sandstone cellar door at Yileena Park was opened in 2006. It is anchored back into a steep hill to ensure cool cellaring of our premium wines as the ground floor is virtually buried underground. Climb the superbly timber panelled stair case to the warmly inviting tasting room which is swathed in Tasmanian Myrtle and features and open fire place, an ornate Victorian mantle and a beautifully detailed granite bar. French doors open onto an expansive deck affording views over the vineyard and the beautiful Yarra Valley. The deck is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine with a pre-ordered cheese platter. When you visit Cellar Door you must also sample our unique smoked delicacies. These are infused with the smoke from old wine barrels and the combination of wine and oak flavours imparts an amazing flavour that needs to be tasted to be believed. Our smoked products are only available at Cellar Door and include smoked salt, olives, nuts, mustard, olive oil, red wine vinegar and cheeses. With such close proximity to Melbourne this stunning Celar Door, Winery and Vineyard is so accessible. We look forward to seeing you when you are next in the Yarra Valley.

Dropped in to see Bob for a quick chat, so we decided to order a meat and cheese platter for lunch as well as a wine tasting WOW the food arrived promptly and what a delicious feed, combined with a tasting of such high quality wines we were blown away. A fantastic way to while away a Saturday afternoon. We were that impressed with his boutique wines that we purchased a couple of bottles which we will enjoy very soon. Will definitely return Thanks Bob and Dianne

I tasted the 2018 Pinot noir with strawberry flavours, not too light, not too strong and perfect to go along with my lunch.Gourmet Barbecue lunch on weekends and public holidays with generous options of meat for $25 .Tasting for a reasonable $5. That's the advice I was given - for taste, service and hospitality. We were warmly welcomed, invited to take a look around the cellar, and then offered a tasting. We were quite selective with what we wanted to taste, conscious that we couldn't actually taste everything on their extensive list. However, they are very happy to share their knowledge and passion, through the tasting experience and they worked with our preferences to guide us through the list. The wines were good and the fortifieds were lovely - it was very nice to be offered the full range of fortified wines, appreciating the differences was a nice experience. I wish we'd coincided our visit with lunch as the platters on offer looked very appealing. We thoroughly enjoyed this visit.

A lovely spot to take an overseas visitor to Melbourne. A cellar door tasting first, then the Monday special which was perfect for lunch - beautiful chicken beautifully cooked on the grill, accompanied by a delicious glass of wine and followed by a nicely chosen cheese. Not too much food in lovely surroundings. The countryside looked beautiful after the rain. An abundance of blue and yellow wildflowers in green grass by the roadsides - in March! My English friend said it was the only part of Australia he’d seen where he’d consider living - and he’s been all over!

It is a while since we were here but were up in Mildura for a week and visited Trentham Estate twice for lunch. It was sensational, the food was very delicious, fresh and great flavours and the wines were not too scrappy either. Great spot right on the Murray River and twice there I had the murray cod....mmmmm sooo good! A friend we had with us doesn't eat fish but tried the cod on the second visit and he loved it also! Pork belly is another great dish as was the seafood pasta. We were lucky on our first visit to see Alana on leaving and she asked if there was anything we wanted to taste.. we had had a couple of bottles with lunch but we said why not.... terrific wines and the prosecco was very good and we signed up to the wine club which is a great deal. Every time you dine at Trentham Estate you get a bottle of wine with lunch. Mind you the wine is priced very well at the table with lunch. Extremely good value for money... we all thoroughly enjoyed our visits! Thank you Trentham Estate.. you were one of the highlights of this trip.

We found this winery as we were driving past, we were the only ones there. The staff were super friendly, happy for us to do a tasting $10 a head, not pushy and didn’t hover. Told us about the property and poured first 2 wines then let us enjoy them and then he came back with the next two reds. Gardens are also amazing. Just be mindful of the weather as the road in is a small dirt road and could be tricky when raining
