Ventspils (Latvian: [ˈvæntspils] ( listen); see other names) is a town in northwestern Latvia in the historical Courland region of Latvia, and is the sixth largest city in the country. At the beginning of 2017, Ventspils had a population of 39,286. It is situated on the Venta River and the Baltic Sea, and has an ice-free port. The city's name literally means "castle on the Venta", referring to the Livonian Order's castle built alongside the Venta River. Ventspils holds the national record for the highest temperature ever recorded in Latvia with 37.8 °C (100.0 °F) on 4 August 2014.

It was a very Unique castle with different exciting parts. in one of the part i learned about the History of old Latvia and also i learned that Latvia had a colony in the far past History. nice old decorative objects are also there to know more about Latvian taste. and the private Museum of old clothes was worth to visit.

We came only to...make a walk. But it was great and our boys (and not only boys:o) enjoyed it very much. Two wonderfull ships to discovery...gold chair...amazing walk on the pier...and phantastic beach.

Visited all of them. Really enjoyed, had never done it before anywhere else. All of them are really beautiful and different from each other.
