Huge park on the outskirts of the city center. Parking (meter) available. Did not know what to expect. Absolutely huge, with large flat grass areas to relax, picnic or unwind, and forest areas. A free zoo in the middle allows you to see Gotland ponies, pingouins, sea lions, the famous moose and other Nordic animals. Very well done. There’s even a little petting zoo for children (closed at the moment due to corona). You can stop for an ice cream or waffle at a little cafe in the middle, or when you get to the end of the zoo there’s a much bigger restaurant that offers a lot more choices including savoury dishes. There’s also a great kids playground. Near the natural history museum.

Lot of animals, easy to see and to walk arround. Lions, elephants, apes, tigers etc. We spend some 4 hours there

Loved being at Boras zoo, it has so much to experience for toddlers. Seeing Giraffe , Elephant ,zebra,ostritch from soooo near was the best experience here. Barn zoo for kids to play with goats, pigs, cow was so nice. Rabbit playland was also nice for kids. Simbaland wad fun , dont forget to carry extra clothes for kids to bathe in water there. All toilets were so cleanand hygienic inspite of high traffic at zoo. Loved being at zoo. Docarry your own food.

Havets Hus was founded in 1993 and is today one of the most popular destinations in the Bohuslan region. Every year, close to 80 000 visitors get acquainted with over 100 fascinating species - from the lesser spotted dogfish to dead man's finger. All of the species live in the West Coast seas. The Havets Hus aquariums offer lots of exciting experiences. The journey begins in the shore area and continues through the different habitats of the ocean, down to the seafloor at great depth. Our aquariums are continuously fed with sea water from the Gullmar fjord, collected a depth of 32 metres. The salinity is around 30 to 33 per thousand and the water quality is very good; free of contaminants and with good oxygenation. This is a prerequisite for the wellbeing of the aquarium fish and animals. The aquarium is open every weekend and daily fron February to October.

Love, love, love the beautiful west coast of Sweden !!!!!!! -Including Lysekil and Sweden's only real fjord, Gullmarn, (= with a shallow entrance, and a "treashhold" separating it from the ocean, which makes it a uniquely huge and very deep "aquarium" inside the fjord, for rare fish and sea animals that can thrive in it, down to 1200 meters !) So, Havets Hus is a salt water aquarium in Lysekil, where you can get a good understanding and close up views of over 100 spieces of fish and other animals living below the water in Gullmarn ! - It is truly worth a visit, very educational and fun for kids as well as grown ups !!!!!!!!!!
