A great experience with Pablo starting off with a trip to market selecting our ingredients fresh from the stalls, followed by a trip to the kitchen where all the steps were explained and we got to join the fun of the preparation. All this was followed by a marvelous Meal with some amazing Chilean wines. Pablo was an all rounder with instructions, explanations and jokes. He was defintely part of the positive experience.. Highly recommended!!!

Chilean Cooking Class And Anti-tours For ValparaIso .

Taking a Chilean cuisine class with El café Vinilo’s chef was by far one of the best experiences I had in Valparaíso . This is the only place in the city that introduces participants to the history and culture of Chile and its food. The participants get to cook 5 to 6 traditional Chilean dishes. Gonzalo the chef gives the class in Spanish and English.Pebre, Pisco Sour, Ceviche ( The Chef explains the difference between Chilean and Peruvian Ceviche) Charquican (one of the most important dishes in Chile) Chuchoca de Maíz and Puré de papas con Naranja y menta which is a mi of mashed potatoes with oranges and mint .Before the class starts, we get all the ingredients needed at the local market where you can find all the typical Chilean fruits and vegetables. The class includes enough food samplings for most people to not need lunch afterwards

My wife and I were taking Gonzalos cooking class on May 1st 2018. He was very friendly, the food was delicious and the class was informative. A very nice experience and a total recommendation. The class started at 9:30 when Gonzalo picked us up in the city. We drove to the market and Gonzalo bought the ingredients for the menu which had been coordinated before via email. After the market we drove to his house were the cooking class took place in his private kitchen. First we had a little breakfast together. After that we prepared different kinds of salt which we could take home afterwards. Then we prepared four dishes and pisco sour. Gonzalo was very friendly and helpful. He explained a lot about the chilenean kitchen and also tought as cooking techniques. Everything (except the frozen fish) was fresh. We started eating together with his wife, his father and his uncle. It was a very nice atmosphere. After the menu his uncle took out his harmonica and we found us singing german christmas songs and some schlager. Then (becuase I was really hoping to see the second half of the Champions League Semi-Finals) Gonzalo turned on the TV and we watched the game together. Gonzalo drove us home afterwards. A great day.
