Things to do in Toronto, Canada: The Best Points of Interest & Landmarks

August 1, 2021 Marlin Saiz

We've heard Toronto described as "New York City run by the Swiss," and it's true—you can find world-class theater, shopping and restaurants here, but the sidewalks are clean and the people are friendly. The best place to start is literally at the top—the CN Tower, the tallest freestanding structure in the Western Hemisphere.

Queen Street

Often compared to New York City's Soho, Queen Street is the place to go for trendy dining and nightlife, plus cutting-edge fashion, art galleries, antique shops and bookstores.

Take a streetcar ride from one end to the other. Walk so you don't miss an attraction or event or store. All the big chain stores are here as well as local artisans sell used and new. Every km on this street has something for everyone. East to west your eyes will be exhausted with all the various things to do.

We took a stroll along the boardwalk. It was well attended. Families and couples walked, individuals ran or jogged, folks walked their dogs. Everyone had an enjoyable experience. Trees had been planted and benches placed in memory of loved ones all along the way. Many were decorated for the season. A delightful walk for us before heading home.

Metro Nails (416) 421-9248 1985 Danforth Ave Toronto Ontario M4C 1J7 Hello friends I wanted to write a review on Metro Nails on Danforth because this company (family business) takes such pride and care of each and every customer who enters their store. First thing, as I enter I am ALWAYS greeted with a smile by the owner Victor(who always remembers my name and everyone who is a regular ) usually his wife Jenny is always working away at her main desk spoiling one of the customers with their manicure . She never misses a chance to also greet and smile. I can't help but notice how clean and shiny everything is and how thorough everyone who works there ; sanitizing consistently and making sure everyone is adhering to the new world rules and practices. Once seated at the designated luxurious leather massage chairs, I sink into my comfort position as my feet enter a refreshing clean bath . Once one of my favorite Pedicurista/ Helen starts making my toenails look beautiful once again( this is truly a creative gift she possesses) she gently slips on my feet some paper slippers and she escorts me to the manicurist area where she continues to give me excellent customer service. She carries my shoes and coat and lays my personal belongings gently by my side . The service is impeccable and the atmosphere being a corner store is cozy and lots of light shining through the corner windows and even a large TV screen with the latest movie to pass the time. This is a wonderful neighborhood haunt of mine but anyone who ventures along East Danforth must make it a point to stop by and get pampered by this truly precious find. Even if you stop in unexpectedly, Victor always finds time to book you in the same day even when its busy. Once again friends ,whenever I find a special haunt of mine, I have to share my views and invite you to check it out for yourself. For those of you who are afraid of these challenging times ,come in and see for yourself and you will be completely reassured of the safety and careful attention to detail this wonderful family provides the most professional customer service! Victor and his team make it a point to give us all the utmost security and peace and harmony that we all need during these troubled times. I don't know about all of you friends but I feel soo much better when I get pampered especially now and my nails are happy again too! ENJOY Friends Sandra
