Iglesia De Nuestra Senora Pilar

This church is a historical and architectural landmark in Todos Santos.

The bells of this simple, yet well maintained church ring on the hour and call residents to mass twice daily. Not being a practicing Catholic, I find it peaceful just to sit outside the church in the evening to listen to those inside worshiping and singing. Outside the church is a small plaza facing the valle de huerta and one can gaze into the distance, watching the sunset over the ocean, hoping to catch a glimpse of a breaching whale. It's also a colorful photo-op spot given the brightly painted TODOS SANTOS art sign is situated there.

We rented a car so the trip was affordable and fun, no crowded buses on a schedule. The highway from San Jose del Cabo was easy and enjoyable, spotted some whales, stopped for a photo on the rugged desert. The Hotel was a highlight of our trip; we looked, had a bite to eat, shopped at the emporio. Plenty of Mexican art, shops and sights in the old town.
