Things to do in The Hague, South Holland Province: The Best Tours

September 19, 2021 Brain Ambrose

In a quirky Dutch-ism, Amsterdam may be the official capital of the Netherlands, but it’s The Hague (Den Haag) where the government sits (along with several international courts, for which the city’s best known). Cosmopolitan and cultured, The Hague is Holland’s third-largest town, with just under 500,000 people. Conveniently, the beach resort of Scheveningen is part of The Hague, and en route lies the family-friendly Madurodam, a fascinating 1/25 miniature display of a fictitious Dutch city.

Most fun and professional surfschool in Scheveningen. They only work with certified instructors (thus all lifeguards by international standards) and groups have a decent safe size, so that the instructor has time to help each individual! Besides professional they are more than fun and very aware of the environment!!!

We travelled by train to Amsterdam and only saw one windmill - went past too quickly to get a photo. Zaanse Sch.. is a site where working windmills and other traditional Dutch working buildings have been brought together in one place. Plenty to see and do. Visiting inside of windmill was fascinating. The working clogs museum showing how they were traditionally made and more recent "industrial" processes was also worthwhile.

My cousin, was already very knowledgeable about this and I was a novice, but we both had a lovely time. Kitty led us to some special gardens in The Hague and showed us what plants are edible and how they can help your body.

This was an amazing tour - highly recommend! I've taken many private tours around the world and working with Sarah was a top notch experience. I took this tour with a couple of friends and we had a great good time - Stan was our guide and he was amazing. We learned a lot about the museum, the key pieces like The Night Watch and we also learned a lot about Dutch culture. I look forward to visiting Amsterdam once again so I can take more of Sarah's tours!

Very good place to spend your summer vacation although it's expensive. book your boat, home and bicycle before you reach here. Remember, here every bar or restaurant closes by 8 pm. Some places you can't go with car, in that case you have to leave your car near at some parking place such as 500 mitre max.
