Entally House

Entally House was established in 1819 by Thomas Haydock Reibey II, the first son of Thomas and Mary Reibey. Entally House is positioned within a landscape of manicured gardens, vinyards and historical outbuilding, including Australia's oldest Conservatory, Chapel, Stables and Carriage House. The Northern part of the Estate also contains a cricket ground. Tours of the property are available at a small fee. Please check the website for opening hours.

This historic homestead is the ancestral home of the Reibey family ( her of the $20 note fame - although she herself did not live there). Incredible old home with antique furniture while the plethora of outbuildings has to be seen to be believed, along with the machinery. The conservatory and house gardens alone are well worth a visit. The whole is surrounded by parkland. A visit here is well worth the time and effort.

This winery is much more than just its great wines. The tasting was excellent, but it was the whole experience that kept us there for hours. We fed the pigs, wandered around the sensory garden eating its delights and made our own charcuterie board for lunch. There is a wide selection of meats, cheeses and other goodies for purchase, along with picnic blankets, baskets etc to enjoy wherever you'd like on the property. The service was absolutely excellent as well. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Possibly the most beautiful cellar door I have ever visited. Hubby and I planned to visit Josef Chromy as part of a short trip to Launcestion, never having been to this cellar door before. So glad we did as it's a delightfully presented cellar door in the most beautiful of surroundings from the flowers and fountain in the car park to the rolling hills and lake in the grounds beyond the cellar door and restaurant. We arrived just after opening and staff were really helpful, I happily browsed the souvenirs and other produce for sale whilst my husband got a good chance to sample wines that were interest to him and have a bit of a Q&A with cellar door staff. It was at this moment we discovered the DELIKAT SGR Riesling which is beautiful and highly drinkable. We took our purchases with us but it was good to know that the cellar door is happy to ship purchases too if you can't take them with you,1 doz bottles of wine probably not welcome in the overhead locker on the plane home. Had a chat about the onsite restaurant, as it was a public holiday when we visited we assumed it might be very busy, which it was but we were advised there were still tables free especially as we were early, the restaurant opens around 11.30am to11.45am- ish. So to kill some time we decided to walk the grounds, absolutely lovely you can walk around the lake, get a view of the vines lots of birdlife and frogs. Restaurant was great (see separate review). Would love to visit again next time I'm in the area.

Jinglers Creek Vineyard

Jinglers Creek is a boutique vineyard producing high quality cool climate Tasmanian wine We hope our wines bring you the joy of good company, the subtle pleasures of food-friendly aromas and flavors, and a sense of place that faithfully reflects the loving care with which they were grown and made. Minutes from the Heritage Highway that connects northern and southern Tasmania, Jinglers Creek Vineyard is located on Relbia Road, overlooking the picturesque North Esk River Valley. Our vineyard's planted rows enjoy a bright easterly aspect, and are far enough inland to be free from the adverse effects of sea breezes and coastal rainfall. Our 2-hectares of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay display moderate vigour, which is a prerequisite for the development of good colour, aroma and flavour intensity. BYO Picnics/food is welcomed.

Sharmans Wines

The vines first planted on the property in 1986 marked the beginning of the Relbia region producing premium cool-climate wine. Taste our range at our cellar door 7 days 10-4 (closed public holidays). Our range includes vintage sparkling, riesling, chardonnay, pinot noir, cabernet merlot and pinot gris.

We headed to Sharmans on our own self-guided wine tour after landing in Launceston that morning from Melbourne. There were very few people there just after 11am, so we enjoyed some great individualised service. We loved the wines, and the amazing view outside over the vineyard. With a wife who loves sweeter wines, Sharmans had a suitable Rielsing that was snapped up and taken with us. Will definitely return next time we are in Lonny.

We stumbled across Julianne’s winery and were very glad we did - it was our favourite winery visit in Tamar Valley. Friendly, knowledgeable and down-to-earth host, passionate and hard-working, serving delicious wines, our favourite was the Pinot Meunier!
