Hida Takayama has continued to hold it's tradition and culture for years. We are a "Kuramoto"(brewery), located in the corner of old street that stretches along the crystal clear stream of Miyagawa River, has kept the original building for almost 200years. We hope many visitors enjoy Funasaka's sake brewed by the traditional way as well as the unique way.

I love this brewery since the first time I came in this little beautiful town of Takayama. I love sake and in town you have many great one, but Hirase is the greatest among the other great breweries in town. I love the way the keep high standards in order to make premium sake and the fact that if you want to have a taste of their "rice made japanese wine" you have to come into town, because you are not going to find their bottles on the internet or abroad. Not to mention the long history this brewery has, more than 400 years! 15 generations! They have a large variety of great sake, so if you are coming into town I strongly reccomend Hirase brewery as first to taste! They have also great sake testing tours in Japanese, English, Italian and other languages!!!
