Thi Lo Su Waterfall

Reviewed By kurtlemberger - Chiang Mai, Thailand

If you can't let go, if you need hustle and party, if you suffer from motion sickness or if you are worried of "extra costs" just simply don't go there! My wife and I drove there on our little scoopyi motorbikes and just the ride there was so awesome, such beautiful landscape and this somewhat strange feeling of penetrating a dead end valley more than 160 Km long. We stayed in Umphang for 4 days to relax, and of course on one day made the amazing combined boat and car trip to the Thi Lo Su waterfalls. The boat ride is so amazing, 3 hours in a deep valley through the lush jungle surrounded by cliffs a few hundred meters high makes you humble, makes you feel close to nature again! Then we had lunch (included in the price for the trip) and then walked to the waterfalls, enjoyed the beautiful spectacle even though it was the end of the dry season, had a refreshing swim under the tumbling water (absolutely safe) and then had a wild car ride back to our Lodge. All day long our two guides took great care of us and made us feel absolutely safe, same as our lady driver who maneuvered her car like a real pro on difficult ground! Conclusion: take the boat ride to go there and the car ride back and you will have an unforgettable day!
