One of the best ways to understand the soul and the way of life of the Brazilians is through their food. And there is no better way to understand Brazilian’s eating habits than by having a real feijoada. The world feijoada comes from the word “feijão” which is Portuguese for “beans”. It is a comfort food dish that many people prepare at home and it is one of the most typical dishes in the country. It consists of a black bean stew with hearty sausages and sundried beef, served with rice, collard greens, cassava (manioc) flour and orange slices. It is served throughout the country and there are many variations in each city. In this tour, we give you the opportunity to taste the Feijoada from Rio de Janeiro with a tour guide that tells you stories about the origin of the dish. The tour includes a tour guide, hotel pickup and drop-off and the feijoada (drinks and desserts not included).

Anderson really made this trip memorable. Thank you Anderson. The statue is dramatic. Must take a camera. The Pao de Acucar has newly been updated for tourism. This venue is worth seeing with Rio Carioca Tour LTD. Ask for Anderson for your guide. He is informative and thoughtful of the guests especially the older ones. Thank you so much.

We had two amazing days with Michael. We did the kayaking on the Friday and hiking on the Saturday. Both were fantastic experiences. Michael was a superb guide and a really nice guy who my partner and I enjoyed spending time with. I would highly recommend. Michael knew a lot about the history of Paraty, the geography and the people. This made our holiday what it was.

I had the pleasure to have Clara as my tour guide. Her vast knowledge and ability to communicate them are amazing, although at times I wasn't really sure what she was saying as she was speaking very fast in English. Still the tour and her passion deserve a 5-star rating! :) She was very patient with all the questions we had and gave us as much advice as possible regarding our travels in Brazil. I had much deeper understanding of Rio history and culture thanks to her!

This was definitely the highlight of my trip! Both our driver Gilberto and Tour guide Giselle made us feel so comfortable and welcoming. Giselle was knowledgeable kind and spoke very well English which was a plus. This was my favorite day of all so much exploring and one of those days when time doesn’t matter. I must say our tour guide added even more of a special touch to this experience.
