Springfield is the third-largest city in the state of Missouri and the county seat of Greene County. As of the 2010 census, its population was 159,498. As of 2016, the Census Bureau estimated its population at 167,319. It is one of the two principal cities of the Springfield-Branson Metropolitan Area, which has a population of 541,991 and includes the counties of Christian, Dallas, Greene, Polk, Webster, Stone and Taney.

Springfield Contemporary Theatre

Springfield's premiere grown-up immersive theatre experience, Springfield Contemporary Theatre, presents a wide variety of year round productions. Springfield's premier stand up comedy venue. Blue Room Comedy Club has the best laughs in downtown Springfield. Located downtown right inside Billiards of Springfield, known for the best burgers, the best pool hall, and now the Blue Room Comedy Club. Come on out for a fun night of stand-up comedy and great drink specials. Every Friday and Saturday night national touring comedians come to our stage, filling the room with laughter. Every Thursday we have amateur night for anyone to have the opportunity to pursue the art of comedy.

Gillioz Theatre

In 2006, the doors reopened 80 years after the original opening. The Gillioz is mainly a concert venue, hosting a wide range of entertainment anyone can enjoy such as Neon Trees, Pentatonix, B.B. King, Brian Regan, Dropkick Murphy's, NEEDTOBREATHE, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, and much more.

This was our first visit to the Gillioz. We made the trip to see Stephan Curtis Chapman solo. What a great experience!. We loved the atmosphere and felt like the performance was just for us. We will be looking for more opportunities to attend at this wonderfully restored theatre.

Juanita K. Hammons Hall is a state of the art performing arts center that presents an annual season of Broadway shows, children's productions, recitals and individual performances.

Hammons Hall brought in Jerry Seinfeld. Wow what a great experience. The Hall is set up very well, I think every seat is great there. Jerry was very entertaining, we are so glad we attended. Funny Funny makes you feel good. Thanks to those that organized this event, keep up the good work.

The Springfield Symphony Orchestra (SSO) is Southwest Missouri's largest regional, professional orchestra. Formed in 1934, the SSO has provided the Ozarks with more than 80 years of symphonic music. Each season, the SSO performs nine subscription concerts and two free family friendly Halloween and Holiday concerts. All concerts are performed at the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts.
