Well if you are there is plenty of it and mighty fine examples of the Traditional Ale brewers craft are there for you to sample. However there is a lot more to this tour than Beer.An interesting visitors centre ,a couple of stunning shire horses (Sam and Jac), gleaming harnesses and vintage industrial architecture. Becky our guide was friendly and knowledgable and led us up and down the brew house allowing inspection of the coppers, mash tun's and fermenting vessels. Great Value for money and a must do if you are visiting wiltshire or on your way to the west country.

Absolutely phenomenal value for money and wonderful way to spend a few hours. We visited the brewery on a rainy Tuesday with very little expectation and were delighted to find a warm and friendly staff to greet us with a pint awaiting. The quality of the beer is beyond reproach and both the tour guide Louise (the daughter of the CEO no less) and the barman, Jason were flawless. By far the best value for money of any distillery or brewery tour I have ever done. Cannot recommend enough.

Palmers Brewery

After a short break we are delighted to be opening again for Brewery Tours from 21st June 2021. Our draught ales win awards. Beer drinkers love them. They love the distinctive taste and delicious character. And the refreshing, thirst-quenching qualities of Palmers’ traditional ales. They love the fact we’re among the UK’s very best small independent brewers – and that we’ve been brewing fine ales non-stop since 1794. The original Old Brewery at Bridport in West Dorset is where we still work to traditional methods with the finest ingredients. Methods and ingredients that have built our reputation over 200 years. Today, we skilfully blend these best brewing rules with scientific systems, to create five quality ales for the 21st century.

Booked the brewery tour having read the reviews on trip advisor. My husband I weren’t disappointed. Very interesting tour and nice to sample the beer and a whisky and or gin at the end in a very well stocked shop. Guide and staff in shop very friendly.

A great guided tour of the brewery, with many beer tastings along the way. From history of how the Brewery started and an great process walk through for how beer is produced - ingredients, process steps and packaging. A lot going on in a small space, but most importantly the beers are great. Great value for £25 per head, with a nice gift pack of two beers and a glass. Staying in Padstow for a long weekend, we were also able to buy a Firkin for a lot more beers later !! Highly recommend this tour in a great part of Cornwall.

I bought my son a 'pub at Home ' from Hillside Brewery to help him celebrate his 2nd lockdown birthday at home and it was brilliant! The beer especially went down very well. The box contained a 5L keg of beer, a bottle of wine, 2 beer glasses, a couple of packets of crisps, a pack of playing cards and a spotify playlist. Great present, speedy delivery.

Fourteen of us came here for a stag do on one of the hottest days of the year. We arrived feeling unable to talk, think or move, but the moment we walked in and got greeted by the brewer Richard our mood changed completely. The beer was delicious, plentiful and varied and we even got to try some local cider for those that preferred. The equipment was interesting, and whilst the tour is essentially of one room it was fascinating to hear about the processes. What really made the whole tour was Richard. Throughout he was welcoming and friendly, his knowledge was immense and he clearly loved his job immensely. At the end we even got to take away a glass and a bottle. Fully recommend to anyone.

During our trip to Somerset we decided to visit a cider manufacturer and this one topped the reviews and now we know why. Jim and his lovely wife were most welcoming and we were told the history of Bere Cider. We sampled their products which is like the cider I remember before the modern stuff was pumped out into the pubs and supermarkets! They also sell cheese, butter and other grocery bits. They have tables outside where we safely enjoyed a bottle of cider in the sun. A great place to visit if you are in the area and no need to book.
