This was probably the best thing we did during a multi-week excursion to SE Asia. Phenomenal visit that figured out how to get you away from the groups more often than not. An astounding chronicled site made considerably all the more stunning by great and fit aides. You should have a feeling of experience. You'll be astounded where they can take you on these scooters!

Escape the tourist hub of the heritage town and take to the beautiful countryside that exists in the shadow of Angkor Wat, riding pillion on our modern Vespas. This insightful tour with a local flavour opens up a vast and varied landscape of colourful village, country and rural life almost too remote to reach any other way! We start the tour at APOPO, a landmine clearing organization that’s uses Hero Rats to sniff out the deadly explosives. Then we use small paths and back streets to lead you out of the city. Then we’ll take you to stunning and peaceful pagoda, teach you about Khmer spiritual belief systems, and organize a Buddhist blessing. We’ll then meet the locals and gain a fascinating insight into the patterns of daily life that have changed very little since the time of the temples. We’ll meet a family of rattan weavers, taste delicious sticky rice grilled in bamboo, meet a local medicine man, and much more!

I booked this trip last minute as I thought it looked interesting and boy was I right. Sry my guide, picked me up from the hotel and our first stop was at the Apopo visitor centre where rats are trained to detect land mines left behind from the war. ..incredible. Another stop was to see how sticky rice is cooked in bamboo and it tastes delicious. I saw a lady weaving baskets, how Khmer noodles are cooked by a local family. Stopped for coconut milk fresh from the nut. Saw the largest reservoir I'd ever seen , visited a local market, a medicine man and was blessed by a monk. All the time riding on the back of a fab scooter through the Cambodian countryside. Sry was so interesting and explained lots more to me as we rode around....he also took great photos. Thank you for an incredible experience :)
