When the morning light washes over the overgrown temples and ruins of Angkor Wat, a simple Siem Reap sunrise becomes a profound event. The complex and the 12th century Angkor Thom royal city are considered the main reasons to visit Siem Reap. Get a lesson in national history at the Cambodian Cultural Village, and a lesson in bargaining at the Angkor Night Market, a bonanza of shopping stalls, food vendors, and bars.

I strongly recommend not to fly and instead take a private car. The journey provides a unique view of Cambodia. Our driver Davies was first class. He had good english and was very courteous. Davies stopped the car on 2 occasions to see local site, the spider market and Spean Praptos (bridge). The lunch stop was at a good, well priced and clean roadside restaurant.

This was an excellent tour package. Our tour guide Pal, was outstanding. He is very knowledgeable and told us countless stories using the inscriptions and figures carved into temple walls. He provided us with history and context and made the temples come alive for us! As a result of the stories and our follow-up conversations, we also received more insight into other religions, particularly Hindu and Buddhists beliefs/tenants. We had some eye-opening/mind expanding conversations. Pal was great about answering our questions and he also had a good sense of humor. We got so much more out of our time at Angkor Wat and surrounding area temples because we had a knowledgeable tour guide. In addition, Pal timed many of our visits so that sunlight would be hitting the temples at the right time and providing good lighting for photographs. Often he would take us to areas and say "look there" and in front of us would be a nicely framed photograph. We felt our tour guide went above and beyond. We were interested in some of the plants and agriculture of the area and Pal would stop the vehicle and point out plants or explain some aspect of culture that we were curious about. When we expressed interest in some local folklore, he explained it to us, gave us examples and stories, and even called his mother, to give us more details! We believe the tour package gave us a much better understanding of the temples, the kings, and the culture and life of the temple time period. The tour package and our guide Pal gave us excellent value for our money. We highly recommend this tour and company. Very friendly and service-orientated.

A one of a kind encounter that we appreciate with my companion consistently. We have a sense of security when we travel on Scooter. The intriguing thing about the visit was to know, taste, and experience the uniqueness of Siem Reap in food and beverages: specialty brews and wines, Cambodian vegetables and organic products, eatable bugs (the ones we attempted we discovered rich), and normal nourishments. It is an encounter that must be done on this visit: It unites neighborhood information and transportation between the better places that are visited.
