There are surprisingly few places to rent bikes near old town Scottsdale. I am glad we found Spinners. It is located right on the long bike path that connects Tempe with north Scottsdale, so you can easily do ~30 miles of riding that is mostly flat with minimal traffic crossings. The Spinners folks were knowledgeable, friendly and reasonably priced. Most of the shop is dedicated to disc (aka Frisbee) golf, so maybe we will try that too. We will definitely be back to rent bikes.

We rented e-bikes here yesterday and it was so fun! Josh was amazing in fitting us and he used Map My Ride to map out our course as well as printed photos of where to turn! If you haven’t ridden an e-bike..do it! I’m an experienced cyclist and took a fully suspended mountain bike. My wife took a cruiser. We could easily ride together with the electric boost. Super fun!

We did a 2 hour ride using Phat Rides USA. The staff could not have been more helpful or pleasant. The bikes were great fun and easy to use. The electric boost feature made it a zippy affair. Try it - you’ll like it.

So much fun last night with Joe and the gang going on a food tour. We got to check out a lot of yummy spots around old town and rode around on these totally rad scooters. The tour was perfectly balanced with food and non-alcoholic drinks along with lots of cruising time around and meeting some fellow scooter gang members along the way.

My father and teenage brother came to visit me in AZ and I wanted to do something fun out in the desert with them. I love to hike, but it’s not really their jam. PJs UTV rental was the perfect solution. They are a little more pricey than some other UTV rentals in AZ but the quality of their UTVs make it worth the extra. We were able to put the nav system on our phones which I highly recommend over the map. Downsides: a bit of a drive to the off-road trails that eats up your rental time. I would say maybe 20-30 min depending on traffic. Seats are able to slide back and forth but could not adjust the back rest as it’s kind of in a permanent lounge position and I’m more of an upright driver. Definitely not a deal breaker though. Upsides: Gorgeous scenery!!! With the harness seatbelt and roll cage with bracket windows you feel very secure and are more shielded from the elements than some other UTV rentals. Love that they give you headsets to drown out the loud noise and you can actually talk to one another. You can even connect with another UTV if you have a large party and multiple vehicles. Staff could not have been nicer when going over everything and explaining it all to us. We will for sure be back when the entire family comes to visit in October.
