The former Power Building is a Municipal Heritage Property featuring a one-story industrial building constructed of brick, which now serves as the museum. The museum is open from the May long weekend to the September long weekend every year. There are daily admission fees or you can buy a season ticket, which are always a great value for families and friends. The museum contains a generator that supplied Kamsack with electricity from 1915-1960, blacksmith tools, a collection of barber's artifacts, a tailor's sewing machine brought from Bavaria and much more. Collection Highlights: Mirrless, Bickerton & Day 200 horsepower, cylinder engine (One of 3 left) / Poplar Point country schoolhouse, refurbished / Well known Wildlife artist, James Carson - pictures he drew of birds in the late 50's / Displays of Russian, Ukrainian, Chinese Heritages

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have been an integral part of Canada's historical and cultural landscape since 1873, helping to form and protect our great nation, and playing a significant role in creating the Canadian identity. Situated on the doorstep of RCMP Academy, "Depot" Division in Regina, Saskatchewan, where Mounties have trained since 1885, the RCMP Heritage Centre is appropriately located where the tradition begins. The Centre brings to life the incredible story of the RCMP and its role in the development of Canada using state of the art exhibits, multimedia technologies, and engaging programming and tours.

I really enjoyed myself at the Heritage Centre, it was a well curated collection; with many examples from former RCMP Members such as Medals, weapons, uniforms. They have some things for younger kids, but one of the interactive driving sims was well past needing service. The 3D horse exhibit was fun but I think the audio did not work? I would definitely recommend the RCMP Heritage Centre for all, though I feel the older members of the family will get the most out of this as you get to appreciate everything with more understanding of history. Depending how in depth you would like to get you could spend 2-4 hours easily.

I visited here with my family. Although a second generation Canadian as my grandparent immigrated to Canada from Ukraine, this brought back so many memories of growing up and visiting the farm and hearing Babas' and Gidos' stories. Nice exhibits on why Ukrainians came to Canada, how they got here and how they settled in their new country.

The Grand Coteau Heritage & Cultural Centre is located in the heart of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan. The Centre houses a museum, art gallery and the Shaunavon Branch of the Chinook Regional Library. Our collection is multi-disciplinary, including artifacts relating to the human history of Shaunavon, fine arts and natural history specimens of the area. A variety of programs and tours are offered in association with our collection, making us more than a collection of objects. Tours are offered on a regular basis throughout the year to school students and can also be provided to other groups upon request. Through our educational programming, we are able to provide opportunities for our public to enjoy the arts, as well as the natural history and the human history of our area. GCHCC is also a popular locale for community events and special programming including Family Day, Canada Day, Boomtown Days, Halloween and December’s Parade of Lights.
