Plaza Mayor is a beautiful square at the heart of Trinidad, the most beautiful city in Cuba and also in the Caribbean. All Trinidad is walkable and Plaza Maaaayor should be your first visit to attend the church and the museums. Then you should go back at sunset for more photographs and for dinner at one of the restaurants on the central steps where street musicians provide the entertainment

Well preserved area for those interested in the architecture although some may dislike the original paving of whatever stones were laying around a few hundred years ago. It’s easy to trip. Lots of resturants as well as shops and historic spots. Don’t buy the cigars from street vendors, they are fakes made with banana leaves.

Up in the old town area ,this old convent is well worth taking a look around ,historical artefacts and some great architechtual woodwork can still be seen, also a small museum with history of the Revolution are situated around the inner courtyard, the best place to head to is up the stairs to the balcony, some nice views of Trinidad, even better take the very tight/small winding staircase up two more floors and then up on to the roof and you get a 360' degree vista of Trinidad and the outskirts up to the countryside, and the coast / sea. great photographic opertunities from up here and a good insight into local Cuban life .Only 2cuc to get in.

We stopped by the museo de San Isidro for an afternoon and lucked into having Reinier assigned as our guide. His English (and French) is impeccable-which is fortunate as our español is basic at best. Reinier is informative, engaging and passionate about the subject matter and made the history tour much more interesting and real for us. This is a museum not to be missed if you're visiting Trinidad and Sancti Spiritus province.

The hike up the TV tower was a bit sweaty in the Cuban heat, however it was well worth it. Beautiful views! At the top I met a guy who worked there. He was really friendly and showed me around, let me climb onto a section of the roof and showed me different areas and sites through his binoculars. He was one of three people who work up there, working 24 hours before being rostered off for 2 days. I tipped him a CUC for his time.

The altar area was beautiful. There were different chapel areas. One had Christ on the cross, and Mary with a spear in her heart. There's a story about how these statues came there.
