Things to do in San Pedro, Belize Cayes: The Best Shopping

March 1, 2022 Yuk Petri

San Pedro is "La Isla Bonita" that Madonna made famous. Now it's a tourist mecca, but still boasts great beaches and plenty of dive shops so you can enjoy the sun, sand, and sea. Plan a side trip to Caye Caulker while you're here; it is less developed and more laid back, and has its own splendid swimming areas.

We visited San Pedro and this wonderful shop 3 years ago and I couldn’t get their Body Whip out of my mind. Found nothing that comes close so I finally ordered 4! Shipping was fast, packing was great, and a small surprise gift was adorable. I can’t believe I waited this long to order, but I’ll be back, Lara!

The Belikin Store

Reviewed By ClairXyz

Apparently this only opened last month, and was not listed on Trip Advisor, so I have the pleasure of writing the first review! Stopped in after seeing it passing by, right next to the Tropic Air terminal. Got to taste Belikin beer draft, instead of by bottle. Was welcomed warmly by two employees and allowed to taste the Lighthouse and the Stout before settling on a “black and tan” made from both. I’d already enjoyed the regular Belikin, and later tried the light and the seasonal chocolate stout. The latter is AMAZING. Apparently it’s really only for the Christmas season, but the had it at the store, a local supermarket and at the Belikin Store at the airport. It even has little chunks of chocolate at the bottom of the bottle! Had a lovely chat with the two employees about Belize while enjoying my beer at the store. They sell Belikin merchandise as well as beer, and are well worth stopping by!

Melody goes over and above on the island to provide a great experience for both visitors and those that live here. She creates wonderful art and has weekly classes where you can even take home a little piece of Belize that you paint yourself. She is kind, warm, welcoming, and will create and provide a wonderful Belize experience that I highly recommend!! Many people look for and ask for an authentic Belize experience when they come to Ambergris Caye and this is a prime example of the kind of activity that will make you love your time here!

The Gallery, and the owner, Jerry, is great. My favorite place to look for and buy gifts and prints etc for home. Jerry has made several giclees for me and I love them. I bring my guests there too and they always end up buying from The Gallery as well! AND, the pie shop with on the spot baking is fabulous!! Great store!!
