Studios on the Park is a nonprofit gallery and open studios art center in a prestigious location in downtown Paso Robles, Ca. Studios’ arts access and education services to more than 100,000 students, families and visitors each year help to make the Central Coast region a leader in creative culture, education and innovation. Among our many essential program and outreach efforts is Kids Art Smart. We believe all children should have access to creative learning opportunities through the arts. With arts education cut from local schools, Studios on the Park provides free visual arts programming for thousands of K-12 grade students.

This interesting gallery has something for everyone and is a great asset to the local community by allowing local artists to work in front of clients, and it also has class space for local adults and children to develop their interests and talents. After a wonderful dinner on the square, we walked the perimeter streets and enjoyed our visit, buying a little something to voice our support for the local artists. Car art is a 1950-1953 Hudson, like the ones our family owned in those years! :-)

We actually brought friends with us for our annual Cambria / Paso get-away. Our friend Jan wanted to go to the Estrella Warbird Museum because he is a pilot. Attached to that museum is the Woodland Auto Display, named after Dick Woodland, a successful contractor whose hobby is stock car racing. He has quite the collection. I am not a car buff, but thoroughly enjoyed the visit. The have an REO Speedwagon, so if you have ever wondered where the band got its name, there is an answer. (Reynolds E. Olds, founder of Oldsmobile, invented the first motor home, a speedwagon.) Vehicles are well maintained, spotless, beautiful. Everything is identified. The collection includes a Steve McQueen motorcycle and a bumper car. Definitely the biggest and nicest car collection I've ever seen. My husband said the same thing. The two docents on duty when we visited were very knowledgeable and friendly. They had lots of amusing anecdotes as well as additional printed information. I'm not sure how accurate some of their stories were; I suspect embellishment has occurred over time, but that's okay. It was fun. They were more than glad to share, to chat, to visit. We were there during the heat wave. The building is not air conditioned, so August was probably not the best time to visit. I sometimes stood in front of the only floor fan, raised my arms and enjoyed. They did have cold bottles of water available for purchase. Donations welcome.

We visited Gary Kramer Guitar Cellars in September for a private engagement and were blown away by how cool the tasting room is and that Gary Kramer was there too. Mr. Kramer was very humble and down to earth. I wish I could listen to more of his stories about the guitars and the artists. The wines were great, the staff was fantastic and the atmosphere is amazing. If you like music and wine, go to Gary Kramer Guitar Cellars. Mr. Kramer gave me a tour of the back concert area which I can only imagine will have some amazing musicians at very soon. Unfortunately for us, the intimate venue was not finished and the stage looks as though it had just finished being built. We will definitely go back and hopefully to watch some live music too.

Located on one of the side streets that end in City Park, this gallery offers a lovely collection of paintings, sculptures, multimedia creations, wood and stone carvings, all under a clean, modern, air-conditioned roof. The staff person was very helpful and knowledgeable about the art and the artists. The pieces are nicely displayed, with attractive groupings. Much of the work represents original paintings. We also found a few prints and limited editions.

We stopped in on a whim and were given a delightful tour by a very pleasant and knowledgeable docent. Lots of interesting things to see and very manageable size.

Visited Sunday afternoon and pleasantly surprised to find beautiful grounds, interesting ironworks art, live music, and a nice selection of fine wines at reasonable prices. We enjoyed the tasting and even joined the club. Give it a try, live music on weekends.

Our approach, however, is not to glorify conflict but rather to make a future generation aware of the fact our way of life does not come without sacrifice. Founded over 25 years ago by two men with two airplanes and a strong desire to see an aviation museum in Paso Robles, California, little did they realize how far and how rapidly their initial dream would carry them. Today, located on over 13 acres of land, situated on the Paso Robles Municipal Airport grounds, the Estrella Warbirds Museum is one of the fastest growing non-profit museum on the west coast. I have been to several museums such as this around the world and this is truly one of the best. It has a very large collection of historical documentation, transportation vehicles, war memorabilia, etc. in a very compact space and yet if feels like it goes on forever. I would definitely take the time away from wine tasting in the area to visit this great find. Seniors do get a discount and it's worth every penny even if you don't.

This museum is located in the beautiful historic Carnegie Library building in the middle of the Paso Robles city Park. I loved how helpful and informative the docents were. The docents were also able to direct me to other museums in the area as well as fabulous restaurants for our evening meal.
