The 15,000sq foot facility houses a library, classrooms, a play space for young children, a shopping gallery with items made by local artisans, a second-hand store, sports center, recycling center, playground, conference facilities and even more surprises. The Entreamigos Community Center has won numerous recognitions and awards for its sustainably designed facility, quality programming, compassionate action and innovative practices. Everyone including visitors and tourists are welcome to visit the facility and join in the activities. Free guided tours are available at 11 am and 3 pm, please ask at the front desk. Visitors are encouraged to learn more and to help support the organization by purchasing locally made gifts and items at the gallery or by bringing backpacks and school supplies to donate to the scholarship program that supports 87 children in public schools.

Such a wonderful community center- definitely recommend taking advantage of the free guided tours are available at 11 am and 3 pm to learn about how it all started and the amazing work they are doing in the community. When you visit consider bringing backpacks and school supplies to donate to the scholarship program and/or anything else to be resold in their recycle/thrift shop (I packed extra clothes to donate and also brought all the hotel toiletries) Also help support the organization by purchasing locally made gifts and items at the gallery- the best gift shop in town! I can't wait to go back!

Mexicolate uses the pure cacao from the beans (you just peel off the shell and eat them if you like – I ate one with the shell on (my first one – lol) – which they say is hard to digest so better to peel one first!. They make into super bitter but potent chocolate bars (super good for health I figure because longest living lady was 128 and ate 2 pounds of chocolate a week), candies, brownies, spreads, honey, powder, truffles, cosmetics, body butter and more. Loved this little shop as we explored the town of San Pancho / San Francisco. So it is really the San Pancho 49’ers as they said Francisco means Pancho lol Great Mexican hot chocolate – not rich or thick but you get little bites of little chunks of chocolate and cinnamon in it - so it is a very unique and delicious drink. Just add hot water. Had my first cup at home. I bought 5 of these packs and 10 chocolate bars to take home and 3 body butters. Good stuff. Across the street – we visited a facility that served as a recycling center and teaching kids the recycling process, and is a library for the children of the town, and they get to learn how to make cosmetics with the beans that Mexicolate donates – so any purchase you make from them is really a charitable donation to help the kids learn that trade and other things. The kids across the street have a few computers, and a place for making art and a nice gallery of their art. The men’s bathroom across the street is a work of creativity regarding the urinal.

Tatehuari Jewelers y Galeria

One of a kind, hand fabricated contemporary jewelry. Minimalist designs in silver .950 and high quality gem stones. In business since 1997.

The first time I walked into this store I couldn't believe such contemporary jewellery store existed in San Pancho. I'd never seen such incredible jewellery in any of my travels and was so drawn into looking at each creative piece so much so that I've purchased several pieces of jewellery over time from Tatehuari. The hand crafted pieces are exceptionally made and the gems and stones selected for each piece are so artfully set - truly amazing - a definite must go-to when visiting San Pancho!
