Things to do in San Francisco, California (CA): The Best Food & Drink

January 1, 2022 Leida Jutras

Every neighborhood in San Francisco has its own personality, from the hippie chic of the Upper Haight to the hipster grit of the Mission. The Marina district boasts trendy bistros and postcard-perfect views of the Golden Gate Bridge, while Noe Valley offers quaint and quiet boutiques. Wave hello to the sea lions at Pier 39, and sample local cheese and charcuterie at the Ferry Building. Sit in on a yoga session in Dolores Park or marvel at the Dutch Windmill across from Ocean Beach.

We chose the macaroon class with Chef Eloise. We arrived at her personal residence for the class. She was very professional and cordial. She had all the ingredients laid out on the table with professional equipment. She also provided printed out instructions for us to take home. The class is 2 hours long. We had a blast making Red Velvet-Cream Cheese Merengue Macaroons! Highly recommend this class for a fun date. I’m excited to experiment in my own kitchen with her recipes.

Anchor Public Taps

Anchor Public Taps is Anchor Brewing Company's pilot bar and brewery. It’s here that you’ll find The Potrero Project; a collection of beers exclusively brewed in our pilot brewery for our Public Taps guests. We also have some of the best local food vendors scheduled daily, as well as a calendar of special events.

I Visited the Anchor Public Taps during my time in San Francisco and I truly enjoyed it. It is a little hidden gem that offers a great selection of craft beers! You have the choice of sitting inside or outside. I sat outside, during a Friday evening, and there was a nice crowd (not too full but not dead empty either). Enjoyed tasty IPAs, the beautiful and crisp San Francisco weather, and had an overall fun time. Truly recommend it.
