Things to do in San Diego, California (CA): The Best Walking Tours

June 19, 2021 Nobuko Falco

San Diego embodies laid-back California culture, complete with a Boardwalk, surfing communities, and outstanding Mexican food. Breathe in the fresh ocean air at Sunset Cliffs Natural Park, then gobble down a fresh fish taco at a La Jolla seafood joint. The naval aircrafts at the USS Midway Museum will have you standing at attention. A free Sunday concert at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion is the perfect way to unwind after a Saturday night bar-hop in the thumping Gaslamp Quarter.

The rich history of the paintings ( murals ) and explaining the meaning of the paintings and the artists was captivating. I was not bored at all. Tadeau ( tour guide) is like a history book except that I don’t have to do the reading. His knowledge about Tijuana, the places visited , the artists, and what the paintings explains is easy to follow and understand. It was a Mother’s Day well spent since I was alone in San Diego and my children couldn’t come, this day trip was their pick.

You must go to Tijuana, you can walk around and spend the day there and have lots of fun, I have done it on my own without booking a company to take me, and I had a blast. Make sure to plan ahead, exchange some money because paying in the local currency is cheaper, download offline maps, you will most probably not have coverage therefore you will not have internet, I would recommend that you explore all the way to the arch, from the arch you can take any turn and each turn you take will reveal a new aspect of the city.
