Cerro de los Cielos is located next to the highway in the mountains between Salinas and Cayey. It is mostly known for the "arbol solitario", or lonely tree, that sits at the peak. In recent years, it has become a popular spot for hikers who like to take risks and adventure new paths. Because of the frequent visitors, the area has been decorated with Puerto Rican flags and other national symbols. Many enjoy the challenge of climbing up the hill and even incorporate it to their exercise routine. At the top, you will feel as if you were about to touch the sky. Proceed with caution however, there is no official trail.

Penon de los Soldados is a mountain located in Salinas. It has an elevation of about 2,592 feet (790 meters) ending at the summit. The base sits at Barrio La Plena.

Plaza de Recreo is Salinas' town square. It is a large space filled with trees, benches, and lamps for easy access. There are a variety of shops around the plaza, as well as other establishments. The town hall, catholic church, and public library, are among the most frequented places right along the square. Festivities and other events are also celebrated on special occasions.

Cerro Las Tetas is located in a mountainous area called the Sierra de Cayey. They are known by the locals as "Las Tetas de Cayey", but they belong to the town of Salinas, its name references a woman's breast. These 2 very curious peaks have a height of 2759 feet above sea level. In the year 2000, they officially became a nature reserve.
6. Jobos Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve
Jobos Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in Salinas is one of the most important natural reserves in the entire island. The research center is located in Aguirre, a barrio between Salinas and Guayama. It is the second largest estuary in the island, with an area of 1140 hectares. The area is divided in five distinct ecosystems, and each protects about 8 endangered species in total. Coral reefs, seagrass, and lots (like, lots) of mangroves are the main components of this natural habitat.
