The Undergound Tasting Room

A Joint Tasting Room focused on providing an exceptional educational wine tasting experience and the ability to purchase directly from the wineries. We are described as the perfect and very cool wine tasting location located on the original level of Old Sacramento. We currently host two award winning local Northern California wineries. We offer a small selection of high quality gourmet foods that pair very well with the wines available and a top designer that will create an incredible custom wine gift basket that is sure to impress upon your friends how much you care about them. The tasting room is designed for those consumers that appreciate and love high quality wines, food pairing recommendations, direct access to wineries and want a different experience than a wine bar. The two hosted wineries; Rendez-vous Winery and Twisted Twig® Winery have been commercially in business since 2005 and offer two different wine making experiences with wines that compliment and compete and an offering and enough selection to accommodate most. The Joint Tasting Room concept provides customers an introduction and access to boutique Northern California Wineries from the various appellations so they can compare the different wine regions, the difference in the wines from those regions, the difference in the characteristics from the same wines from different regions, vineyards and experience different wine making techniques. The tasting room provides an excellent opportunity for smaller wineries to economically market their wine directly to the consumer and educate the customer on the things that make them different from the other California wineries. We want this to be about the customer experience and we are always looking to improve so please feel free to provide feedback directly to our staff. We can ship your orders just about anywhere in the United States but some restrictions apply and it depends on availability. Wine sells out... Please be sure and order early for the holidays! Ask about our wine club discounts and the special VIP treatments and advanced event tickets afforded wine club members. Wine is about friends

Wow, met a friend there for wine and nibbles, and it was stellar. I tested several wines, and each one was yum. These three: 2018 Albarino, Lodi, Terra Alta Vineyard, 2018 Grenache Blanc, Placer County, Monarch Mine Vineyard and 2018 Rosé of Syrah, Lodi, Fields Family Vineyard. Each one was wonderful, and I'll be coming back for more. AND then there is the menu. We had the Deviled Eggs, the Buffalo Cauliflower and the Chef's Plate. It was perfect for a three hour meet to nibble and sip (and of course talk talk talk. Sat outside because inside was full (holiday) and noisy, but service outside was fabulous, and well managed.
