Things to do in Ronda, Andalucia: The Best Walking Tours

July 28, 2021 Misti Hsu

Ronda’s most striking feature is the Puente Nuevo, which spans a gorge over 300 feet deep. Can you guess when the "new bridge" was built? 1793. That should give visitors an idea of how unchanged Ronda has been over the years. It’s also known as the birthplace of modern bullfighting. The town’s bullfighting ring is only used once a year, at the Feria Goyesca, but it’s also a museum where you can learn about the history of this traditional (yet controversial) sport.

As a break from the normal working week I decided to book Javier as my guide to take me on a tour around Marbella . For a small fee it was a pleasure to be led around the gorgeous streets of Marbella . Javier knows his history and his knowledge of the town is excellent. A break from the norm and me being on my own I had a very enjoyable morning with Javier . He is polite, kind and very personable, I would highly recommend this walking tour if you are not sure of your way around and you wish to know the nice places to eat, drink and visit. I now feel I can go back to Marbella knowing exactly where I wish to hang out knowing I'm in the right place . Thankyou Javier 5 stars :)

My wife and I were in Ronda for a day and did not have anything planned. Got Claudia through the tourism office and turned out to be a great decision. She provided so much information that would have otherwise missed had we just walked around town ourselves. Everyone in our group spoke Spanish except for us. It was nice of her to spend equal amount of time repeating everything in a English just for the 2 of us without cutting anything short. She was very good in communicating in English. We had a great time seeing many different sites and hearing tidbits about the history of each location that made the visit all the more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend Claudia if you plan on visiting Ronda. - Santha
